The best time to visit San Cristobal is during the dry season, which runs from December to April.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather with less rainfall and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius. This makes it ideal for exploring the city's attractions like the Plaza Juan de Maldonado and the bustling market areas without the interruption of heavy showers. It's also a great time for day trips to the surrounding Andean foothills.

For travellers who enjoy local festivities, consider visiting in January for the Feria Internacional de San Sebastián. This annual event brings the city to life with parades, music, and cultural activities, offering a unique insight into the region's traditions. While it can be busier during this period, the festive atmosphere adds to the experience.

Outside of the dry season, particularly from May to November, San Cristobal experiences more frequent rainfall. While the city remains green and lush, outdoor activities might be more challenging.
