Sleeps eight with 2 bedrooms having queen beds, one having 2 twin beds and a Pirate-themed bunk bedroom for the little ones. Additionally there is a queen sleeper sofa in the Living Room for overflow sleeping. A beautiful, enclosed front porch offers additional year-round living space. Fun and cozy outdoor living with two large side decks and a wonderful ‘crows nest’ deck with a small strip of ocean view - perfect for enjoying those incredible Hatteras Island sunrises & sunsets! Large concrete private driveway and area beneath house with picnic table for additional outdoor entertainment. Lighted fish cleaning station with nearby hose. Other amenities include: 2 Flat screen TVs with Rokus and Spectrum app with local channels, many general channels & 15 ‘cable’ channels including sport channels, HGTV, Discovery, etc, 500-mbps internet, stackable washer/dryer, park-style grill in yard, outdoor shower, and a well-equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher, complete dish and knife sets, both Keurig & pot-style coffee makers, 2 blenders, toaster & hand mixer. Non-smoking (inside house, on porches & decks). Smoking is allowed on concrete area beneath house where picnic table with ashtray is located. Dog-friendly home for up to 2 dogs (additional $150/week pet fee applies). 330 sq foot dog run area accessible from side deck door without you going out in bad weather! Fence is wooden, cattle-style and 5 ft high…very sturdy. The fenced area is partly covered & partly uncovered for your dogs comfort in any weather. Bedspreads, mattress covers, pillows (of various types and firmness), pillow covers and dish cloths ARE included. Bed sheets & bath towels are NOT included but they can be rented (supplier information will be provided by host upon booking). Beach accessories such as chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and cruiser bikes are not included, but can be rented at many locations in the area. Host can provide nearby providers, if needed. To protect my home, exterior cameras are in use on the 2 side decks and beneath the house, however the video will be disabled after a compliant check-in day unless owner receives report of a house rules violation (note that audio is always disabled). Even though check-in time is listed as 4:00, in reality the cleaners are normally done (and house available) by 1:00 or 2:00 (however it isn't guaranteed until 6:00 so I split it down the middle). They will post a note on door when it is ready. If you arrive earlier, you can change in the outdoor shower and go to the beach or sound until its ready. We enjoyed the location…the house was spacious enough for the 7 of us, lots of outside spaces to enjoy! Our golden retrievers loved their first vacation too! Easy walk across the street to the beach, a little bit of a hike over the dunes to get to the ocean, but completely manageable! If I could make one suggestion if possible, ceiling fans for the front porch. It was so hot (of course we were in an extreme heat warning during our vacation) but there was no air circulating and we didn’t get to enjoy the porch at all….we had hoped to eat breakfast out there but it was just tooooo hot! We loved visiting village conery for ice cream, hatteras bowls for a refreshing treat, waves market and deli for lunch and mirros cafe for breakfast and dinner. The owner Pam hasn't missed a thing in making your stay comfortable. She communicated with us regularly and is such a lovely person! The house is cute and comfortable and decorated with a fun, relaxed vibe. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The outdoor decks are well crafted and look brand new. They provided us with some nice outdoor areas to hang out. The house is a block away from the beach and a quick walk. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog. Pam has provided everything you'd need for your dog including dog bowls, extra leashes and even dog tags with the house address in the event your dog gets loose. We appreciated such thoughtful attention to detail. She is clearly a dog lover. Pam kept us well informed ahead of our trip and was easy to communicate with when needed. The house is well equipped with most everything you need for a beach trip. The listing is clear with what is NOT provided. It’s an older home, but you tell it’s had some good TLC; example, most all the decking has been replaced or new. This beach house is a little smaller (hence a little less pricey) than others we have stayed and the owner has done a great job keeping it updated. It is decorated nicely, clean and has everything we needed. The owner thought of nice details in the house. She even sent us some cookies and muffins during our stay! If you are looking to bring your dog the house is perfect for dogs as well. The location of the house in Salvo is great as well. The beach is gorgeous and not crowded at all. ##### Amy T. Simple, efficient layout inside, with lots of great outdoor space. The kitchen is well equipped to cook just about anything. Pam was really helpful and responsive throughout the booking process. The location was great for us. We enjoyed the multiple outside decks, with the rooftop seating being our favorite. It was a short walk to the beach, which was great. Easy to make multiple trips, as needed, for lunches/bathroom breaks/or just to come and go with the kids and dogs. We were worried there wouldn’t be too much around us, but the dollar general was close and had everything we needed. This was our first time to the OBX and we loved staying on the southern shores. It was quiet and almost like a “private” beach- plenty of room to spread out from others. We took a day trip to the north side of the island and couldn’t believe the difference in the crowds. Pam was an excellent host. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the house upon arrival. We would definitely stay again! ##### jamie W. When we weren't at the beach we spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch enjoying dinners, sipping wine, and playing games. The house is a very easy walk to the beach access, however the trek up the dunes is a little strenuous, so you may want to consider renting/bringing a wagon to haul your beach gear. Some of the pillows were a little too firm for my group's liking, but not a huge deal since you can just bring your own. Pam also sent over a welcome box of cookies and muffins, such a sweet and thoughtful touch! I will definitely stay here again. ##### Lauren D.
