Unfortunately, it looks like you did not follow our check-out instructions and were not compliant in leaving the property on time. There are plenty of written correspondence reminding you of when check-out is, which you chose to ignore. Your signed receipt agrees to depart on time to avoid extra charges - which were never processed. Self accountability is important when staying at a family owned business and unfortunately you didn't have any. We will not apologize for a problem that you created. Guests who are respectful of our policies have a wonderful stay. Your behavior has been reported as guest misconduct through Expedia and your guest account can be flagged for future hotels.

Thanks for your review Lee! As you mention yourself, Salida is a small town and shuts down early. We are not a full service hotel rather a independently run family business. We do things differently and operate with limited office hours. Most of our guests really appreciate our courtesy calls as they ensure efficient communication between the motel and our guests. You mention that our doors open directly into the parking lot, which is why we are considered a motel / motor lodge. We always encourage guests to research the property they choose to stay before booking to make sure that it is the right fit for them. Happy travels!

Our washcloths and hand towels are located inside the bathroom vanity drawer :) We also have room types that offer in-room coffee makers - however our standard rooms do not. The lighting on our property was installed so that we would be compliant with our insurance, however, we are working on updating all of the rooms with blackout curtains! We understand that we do things differently and aren't the best fit for every traveler. We are a young couple trying to operate a business that has a lot of different factors to consider. Without having the protection of a franchise, we must have stricter policies in place to protect our guests and us alike.
