The suite we booked was charming and comfortable. We felt so relaxed in the countryside. It was SO quiet! The proprietor Vincent got up early to make breakfast. Everything was homemade - jam, apple juice, pastry, crepes - and it was all delicious. The rooms were also immaculate! While the room itself was charming, with classic features, the bathroom had been completely updated with a jetted tub. We also had a sun room, and a living area with tea service!

The owner does it all and is welcoming and accommodating and even cooks your breakfast in the morning.The property is a bit of a faded rose, but if you don’t mind old furniture and creaky floors, the place oozes with the charm of an old estate. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a diversion from a typical hotel and would like to be in the countryside just minutes from Bayeux.

My husband & I absolutely loved this place. The host was amazingly helpful and friendly. A lovely room in a beautiful property surrounded by lovely well kept grounds. The fab breakfast (loads of it) was included in the price which was already fantastic value. Top tip; If you’d like to eat dinner here you have to book it with the host before arrival or first thing in the morning (it smelt amazing). Only 1 negative which isn’t a deal breaker for us was the squeaking floor boards. We will definitely stay here when we visit again.

We stayed for 2 nights while we explored Normandy. I personally loved everything about it. The history of the home was very interesting. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

Three day stay in February 24
Stayed here for three days during February 24. The reception and attention to detail was absolutely spot on, the breakfast was one of the best I have ever experienced over the years, and all in all it was a most enjoyable stay which I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break, and a change of scenery.

Beautiful small chateaux within an easy 10 minutes of the center of Bayeux. The host was very helpful. His breakfast buffet was plentiful with many choices of fresh breads, pastries, hams, cheeses, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals, etc. A plate of warm crepes was brought to the table, and an offer to cook eggs, bacon, or omelette. Each table had a complement of 6 homemade jams, coffee, a thermos of hot water for tea, and juice. Be sure to take a walk around the grounds to see the old tower, and also the orchard where the host collects the fruit for the jams.

This is a delightful smaller chateau with spacious rooms filled with light from the tall windows. We stayed in the accessible room on the ground floor. It was thoughtfully laid out and very comfortable. The lights were bright enough for reading at night, the wifi was excellent, and there were many places to recharge devices. Water/coffee/tea was available in the room. The breakfast spread was vast including fresh bread/croissants, hams, cheeses, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal, and pastries. The host/chef brought out crepes each morning, and also offered to prepare eggs/bacon as one wished. On the table were multiple choices of jams, spreads, etc. and all the jams were homemade from fruits on the property. The property has a lovely lawn with chairs to enjoy the sun. It is worth taking a short walk to the old tower at the corner of the lawn, and also down to the orchard. But if you do it early in the morning, as I did, you may come back with very wet shoes from the dew!

A Fine Taste of Normandy
Vincent was a gracious host and extraordinary cook. We can’t say enough about the excellent dinner he prepared by request—be sure to book this ahead! The breakfast was fresh and overly generous, and very delicious. We will recommend to friends.

Located in a remote private area. Our first impressions on arrival alterered our experiemce and stay but I would rather not comment so not to embarrass the owners. There is no reatuarant so we went to the a village approximately 9km away and it was okay. Our room was bug a spacious althought there is no curtains in the conservatory so you can be seen when walking to the bathroom.

Great place to unwind
The Place is as it is shown. Large rooms and a warm welcome. Breakfasts? You are spoilt for choice. The only downside is that there is no evening meal available. With extensive grounds and a robot lawnmower that seems not to cut very much, it is a great place to unwind. Beware the loose gravel drive (it had just been laid) if you are on two wheels.

We lived this place. When we return we’ll stay here again The owners were gracious and warm. Our GPS got the directions wrong at first and they came outside to make sure we knew where to go.

Perfect pace to stay after a long day sightseeing. Vincent was wonderful and made sure our bellies were full for the day. The only negative is the entrance to the property should have lights. Truly a country side chateau.

Great food.
Amazing stay. I have also booked a return stopover hoping that the outbound stay would be good. Our stay exceeded all expectations. A lovely old chateau. The host provided us with an outstanding evening meal. The breakfast was a a sight to behold. So much food you cannot possibly try everything. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely highly recommended. And definitely take the evening meal.

Vincent , our host and his wife were great owners. The chateau is outside Bayeux and very quiet and peaceful with Bayeux a ten minute ride away for everything you could need or want. We wrapped with the stay with the table de hôte! It was fantastic. Highly recommend this property.

Room had wonderful space. ...Most amazing breakfast...crepes were so thin and fresh and delicious! Eggs cooked to order with all the sides...fresh oj , croissant, breads, cheese, fruit.....nothing left out!! Only complaint was jacuzzi tub/shower was very hard to get in and out of.

We had a wonderful 3nights! Our room was on the main floor because we had large, heavy suitcases. It was clean, roomy and well appointed. There’s a small communal refrigerator available outside the room, which was very handy. The breakfasts are amazing with crepes, cooked to order eggs, etc. We were able to enjoy one dinner offered. The chef (Vincent?) is excellent!! If we ever have the opportunity to return to that area of France, we will want to stay there again. It was close to Bayeux and the Normandy area. We were able to get our Covid test in nearby Caen, thanks to Vincent, then drive back for breakfast, pack up, and head to Paris to fly back home to the states. It was a wonderful experience, and lovely memory.

In a lovely quiet location with nice gardens. The property was undergoing some minor building work at the time but was not a concern. If you like living with that old French chateau feeling then this will definitely fit the bill, we enjoyed every minute. There is no reception you are free to come and go as you please. The family who run this hotel are very friendly, helpful and speak English. A wide variety of breakfast was served every morning catering for all tastes. Only issue was being on the outskirts of Bayeux there was no bars or shops to walk to. You will rely solely on a car. The location for the Normandy beaches was excellent with between a 15 to 25 min drive. Bayeux town was only a 7 min drive and a wonderful location to tour with plenty of restaurants.

Awesome stay at a Castle!
Everything was absolutely wonderful! There was great thought put into all the little details. Hosts were warm and friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast was fantastic! Would love to visit again! House was originally a castle built in the 1100's. Awesome experience. Thank you!

We liked the spacious bedrooms, the quiet surroundings, the welcome from the host, the table d’hote food and service and breakfast. The hotel has only 5 rooms so you received a personal service. For us the bed was on the firm side and we would have preferred some a little softer, otherwise very good.

Great service at nicely renovated house
I thought location was relatively nice if you have a car. Pretty easily accessible from nearby towns of Caen as well as Bayeux. Very friendly and accommodating service from the hosts. We requested dinner service ahead of time. Both dinner and breakfast served were great. We were the only guests on that particular night and we had a nice conversation over drink after dinner. Name Chateau is a bit misleading, though, it is a left over of the historical Damigny castle that was nicely renovated. It was a little smaller than what I have expected. Nothing bad about it, but I had a different expectation based on some other hotel chateau in other places.

Beautifully restored 12th century chateau. Modern bathroom inserted into period bedroom with antique furniture. Beds comfortable, adequate lighting, and nice tv. Over the top breakfast with everything one can imagine. Chef/owner prepared dinner by reservation smelled incredible, wished we had known in advance. Good location for Normandy, D-Day tours, and Bayeux Tapestry Museum.

We loved our stay at the Chambres d'hotes Chateau de Damigny. We had multiple rooms including a beautiful all window room to enjoy the full moon! The highlight is the breakfast which is the best breakfast at a B&B we had ever had. Kudos to this wonderful place!
