Horrible Stay
We came out on Mothersday weekend, we ended up with a water leak in the kitchen which my husband tried fixing for them and could not, we called and Lorena asked us to put a bowl there to catch the water she said that this happened and she knew exactly what it was from,the sliding door in the kitchen did not close properly and the balcony was really wobbly and not secure in some spots, I called and let her know right o way so she was aware. The linen was not clean which we just washed it our selves which we were still trying to have a positive weekend, everything was out dated and the chairs were broken in the living room, the smell was old in the house, but lastly on our 3rd day there which was MOTHERs DAY we all wake up and attempt to get ready to have a fun day and guess what NO hot water!!!! I called and explained to Lorena and she stated it wouldn’t be worth it to have someone come out and fix it since check out is at 11! Mind you we had lots of fun activities planned none of us could get ready! She said it was out of her control and she would reimburse us 40 dollars that didn’t even cover the hotel room I had to purchase just so we could get ready for the day! I tried being reasonable and polite and just wanted her to fix this and she refused! Thank you lady for ruing my mothersday I hope you never have to encounter such a messed up day!

Perfect family vacation place!!!
This was our first family vacation ever, and I know that puts alot of pressure on the situation, but this place more than delivered on amazing!! We spent alot of time on both porches, admiring the spectacular views. It was beautiful. There were deer on the property that my kids had never seen, and that alone, made them so happy. It was very clean, clear labels in multiple places that answered many questions so we didnt need to bother the owner too much, and when we did have questions she was quick to answer and was very friendly and answered all our questions. It was an amazing vacation that we will never forget. Perfect! You could see snow on the mountains, the hot tub was on its own deck and very nice, as was the whole of the house. 5 stars!!! Loved it and will definitely stay there again!!!

We enjoyed the view from the balcony. Home had all the essentials. Only negative was the dirty linen. But I just washed them, thank goodness for the washer and dryer. Overall it was a great place and will book again.

Loved seeing deers outdoors, in the morning. Peaceful and quiet place to stay with family. Didn't risk being outdoors when it was dark due to risk of bears, elks and deers in the area. Loved our stay in this cabin....

Highly recommend getaway!
My husband is retired Military and I am a social worker. We love to get away from time to time sometimes with some of our adult kids and grandchildren, and at other times alone! Lorena is a blessing and a wonderful host! She is very attentive and was available when we needed. The cabin is wonderfully equipped with all that you will need, besides the groceries, of course! But you have plates, silverware pans, and even Cookie sheets which made my grandchildren very happy because we could bake cookies! The property is nestled on the corner beside other properties, but the neighborhood was extremely quiet. We had the wildlife come up to the cabin, which my grandchildren also enjoyed seeing. It truly was wonderful to stay at this cabin and comfortable as well. I believe in finding out for yourself how majestic this place is, I definitely recommend it. And I will also be returning. Wonderful stay with beautiful views
We had a wonderful stay! The property was a a few minutes from town and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub every morning and watched the sunset from the upper balcony each evening. The views were beautiful and the king size bed was so comfortable. Well worth the price if you book your stay during the week. We will definitely stay here again.

Was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but was pleased with our stay. Jacuzzi worked great and was very clean. The rest of the cabin was clean and ready to be used. Kitchen has plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Only thing missing was a mop but we bought a small one to keep by the door leading from Jacuzzi. Was a bit stuffy upstairs but with the ceiling fan and portable ac it was manageable. Stairs are not steep but it is a lot to be going up and down if you’re not used to it. The cabin wasn’t as hard to get to as some of the reviews lead me to believe. It is a bit steep on some streets but my car made it just fine. Would be a bit leery during winter when it’s snowing or iced. Overall would definitely stay here again.

The property was extremely dirty. The host failed to provide an alternate route to access the property. The front door was wide open upon arrival, excused by a dead battery. This made entrance and locking up at night very concerning. The jacuzzi was disgusting and unusable. The host promised to send a caretaker who did not drive until after 9pm, making the jacuzzi unusable for more than half of our stay at least. The host offered a refund with promises to contact me the next day. The host failed to contact me prompting me to initiate a formal complaint. She then refused a refund of any sort citing Jesus and peace. Extremely odd behavior given the situation. She claimed the jacuzzi was 'a bonus', despite being listed as an amenity, and told me I was trash. I have a feeling this is usual behavior regarding this property. The photos are VERY deceiving. The jacuzzi issue was never rectified making it unusable during the entirety of our stay. There appeared to be feces on the walls. The bathrooms were full of mold and very dirty. The carpet appeared to have not been vacuumed for quite some time. The stove left much to be desired. The kitchen cabinets were in serious need of repair and cleaning. I wore water shoes when using the shower. The bathroom 'doors' and nothing more that hollow pocket doors allowing for less than a desired amount of privacy. I will also be contacting the local Chamber of Commerce and the governing body responsible for CRS Business Registration compliance.

We arrived and getting into the home was a breeze. Home was very comfortable and clean. The only thing I would change is not having a wall plugin in every room. This home was in a great location and easy to find. Beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend to all my family and friends.

Not as expected
The air conditioning consists of 3 portable floor units that have to be worked on and water drained from inside the unit once or twice a day. Stairs from the living room to the bedrooms are super steep. The dining room table is an older tucked away foldable with pull-out chairs. The house was clean, top bathroom and kitchen were updated and outdoor furniture was nice. Owner was very responsive although her initial solution was for me to carry a bottom floor portable a/c up the stairs to connect and vent it or instructions on how to remove the back of the a/c and fix the problem.

Never recommend this cabin! You have been warned!
My family regularly rent a cabin twice a year for family bonding time. First time using vrbo and finding this cabin. Big mistake and we regret making that decision. We had bad experience with this stay mainly with the multiple issues we encountered from the start of our stay until upon getting home. Let me start by saying that the information on the listing is inaccurate. Somehat disappointed with the condition of the cabin. The location of this cabin is hard. GPS takes you a difficult and steep route that you need a 4wd to maneuver. The owner never provided information on the way to get there until i complained upon checking in. The cabin is outdated, rooms are small. It doesn't have an actual AC other than the portables. Upon getting in the cabin the heater is not working, the fireplace is not working. We had to figure it out to solve it. There is no designated dining area other a small folding dining table that is wobbly plus one of the chairs is broken. Sliding door to the patio not locking. Beware of the upper bed of the bunk bed as when the heater is on it is very hot for someone to sleep there. The front door lock doesn't work .At the end of our stay the owner charge us extra for cleaning of the hot tub for allegedly getting it too dirty as we only used it ones for only 3 hours. I don't have little children and we are not a sloppy family. My mistake i didn't take a picture of the tub when we checked out. Overall unhappy with this experience. Will never come back.

You extensively lie in your review of cabin. Up until the last day of your stay you communicated to me that you were happy with the cabin. But when I charged you $40 extra dollars you became very angry and threatened me with posting a very horrible review for my cabin if didn't give you your money back. I am so sorry that $40 will sour you so much, this is only half of what I was charged ($80) for the extra jacuzzi maintenance upon your check out. You forget to mention that with all these "issues" you say here, my husband or I were on the phone walking you inch by inch on how to turn the heater and the chimney pilots on and how to find the channels you wanted on the TV. It's normal for chimney and heater pilots to blow off on a very Ruidoso windy day. Which was the case on the day before your arrival. I openly disclose on my VRBO page that my cabin is a total of 1,500 square feet, thus the six seater foldable table was the best use of the space. This table is stable and can be opened in 30 seconds. There are six perfectly strong dinning chairs in the dinning area. The "unlockable" sliding door you mention is on a third floor level with no access to it from the ground and it does have a twistable latch on the bottom that can secure the door perfectly. I was the one who gave you the information, ahead of time, not to set the lower floor heater to more than 60 degrees so as to not make the person sleeping on the top bunk bed uncomfortably warm at night. If these instructions are followed, then the temperature of the bottom floor will be comfortable. In every room there are additional electric heaters which can be plugged in as desired. The cabin is as the pictures show, no more no less. The jacuzzi is 1 years old. We have not needed a 4W Drive vehicle to get to the cabin. I happily will provide a hand drawn map upon request. Most people have not asked for a map. In the summer, every room has a refrigerated window unit installed. Again, these make the cabin temperature very comfortable. Jaime, don't hurt people. Hurting people doesn't bring happiness. Your attempt at hurting my cabin's reputation will not bring you happiness nor peace. I take pride in bringing value and mountain luxury to all my clients based on a personally remodeled cabin and a very accessible price. I encourage you to have a thankful heart and to see the positive in life. This will bring you peace and joy. - L

Incredible Getaway in the Mountains
First and foremost our host and her husband were incredibly sweet and helpful. The cabin had the most breathtaking views from the second floor patio. My favorite area of the cabin was the kitchen and living room area. It’s opened concept which made it a great entertaining place for my sons 22 birthday with family. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were super comfortable! My only regret is not booking it for a third day! I loved this incredible getaway in the mountains and I can’t wait to go back!

The property is definitely not a 5-star as listed. The cleaning service doesn't do a very good job. The refrigerator smelled terribly even after we cleaned it and used baking soda. The stairs to the 2nd floor are very steep. Furniture outdated. Would not stay here again.

Wonderful Cabin with an Incredible View!
Wow! We just had an amazing time staying at this cabin! We are already talking about staying there again upon our return to Ruidoso next summer. The view was incredible from the deck, the beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our family to spread out. Our kids especially loved the swings and hot tub! This property was super clean and provided a great place for us to relax and unwind!

We really enjoyed this cabin! My wife called it "Monica-clean"! (Friends reference!). We saw lots of wildlife including a huge bull elk. The only fault I can give it is there's no carport or garage, problematic for us when a massive hail storm came and caused $7,000 worth of damage to our brand new car still with paper plates. Can't really fault anyone for that, just a stroke of bad luck. The property owner was very helpful throughout the whole stay when we had questions.

We didn't receive our check-in code until 30min after 4pm. My family was waiting outside the property waiting for the property manager. We walked in and the place wasn't cleaned. The last things cleaned were by the previous guests. The beds weren't made, kitchen and bathroom wasn't cleaned. The outdoor seating had cushions spread on the deck. The property manager called the cleaning service, and they asked for 2hr minimum to clean the cabin, and asked us to leave. The hot tub was on sleep mode with no instructions on how to change it. It was a good trip other than that.

We were able to do all of that here. It was nice sitting on the deck in the hot tub looking at the mountains. This little cabin was absolutely perfect. Two adults and three kids under 14, and everyone had a little space to themselves. Kitchen is set up, and the hot tub on the deck was a hit for stargazing. We will be back!

Be prepared to drive up a mountain it was our first time. The actual cabin was exactly what was pictured. The hostess was very attentive to all our questions during the stay. Very clean!! The heating system was great! Would definitely consider staying again :) out of all the restaurants recommended in the list we would suggest skipping the caliente grill and try the Flaming Burgers! We rented our ski gear at Ski West! Overall: had the best time!!

Fun Cabin
Great stay. Jacuzzi was ready for use when we arrived. Property was clean and had awesome views. Property is listed on Redwood but is closer to Maple. So it was tricky to find at night. Also if gps tells you to go up S Oak Dr to Yule when the roads are icy or snowed on don't. They stay frozen and are very steep. You will get stuck. Unless you have 4 wheel drive and snow chains.
