The room was so clean and the facilities were so good. My family is so satisfied that I will come back. And the children liked it because they could see the animals right in front of them.

Family friendly accommodation. We had the 2 bedroom family unit for 2 nights. Grandchildren enjoyed the park and seeing the animals onsite. We had a late check-in and check out and the staff were very accommodating. You will need a car as it’s quite far to the nearest shop but we had a comfortable stay.

I stayed in the new block - rooms are beautiful, location is good and also animals on the property also, which I love! Overall, a very good place to stay! Staff is friendly and price is very reasonable also.

We stayed in the new building which is away from the main road. However, for a new building there were a couple of minor flaws which were not game changing but surprising: loose toilet roll holder, a tub spout falling off the wall (screw loose, too), and most irritating, an alarm going off mid night asking you to evacuate the building just because of a power outage in the area… Overall this is a nice place to stay but the new building seems to be built in a rush…

Booked 7nts for my family of 5. We loved the look of the playground and that the room had aircon, but the positives end there. Photos on the listing show the twin beds alone, and then the sofa and living/kitchen area alone, does not show you that this is all squished into the same tiny space - what we got vs what we thought we were getting was very misleading. When we tried to speak to the manager about this he got defensive, and when we asked for another room, he denied this option, saying we would have to make a new booking and pay the full amount, rather than pay the difference. Due to this, we complained to Expedia; refund or reimbursement was denied. Manager cornered me in the laundry the next day and said we could have asked for another room which I said we already did before we complained, then he brushed over it saying that 3D rendering had been available of the room, which don't show on the phone app where I booked, so not sure if it's true. The place was grimey and did not feel clean. Cracked toilet seat and tub, sticky dining table even after trying to clean it myself, sheets were itchy, and dirty carpets that walking without shoes on made the soles of my feet black. After just 2nts into our booking, we vacated - ultimately a very expensive mistake. Not sure how this place got so many positive reviews, but I suggest that you spend your money wisely, and avoid this place at all costs. Their bookings are non-refundable for a reason!

Hideaway motel was a great family friendly and fun place to stay. Nicely set just out of Rotorua it was safe for our 3 year old to run around and the room itself was pretty nice. A small amount of maintenance would be good in the room but all up a great place to stay
