Average stay, nice winter escape
We stayed 2 nights in a standard room. The room was a decent size and had a peekaboo ocean view. The temperature in the room was hard to moderate (either cold or super hot), and the bed only had a heavy down comforter and a sheet, no blankets. But mostly comfortable overall. We ate dinner at the Enoteca lounge, and enjoyed good food and good service. We had the buffet breakfast both mornings which had many options and was a good deal for what we paid (we had an inclusive package). It's important to note that the parking area is not super convenient. The weekends are very busy and the parking lots are a short walk from the hotel. This would matter for older couples or people traveling with small children, or if carrying many bags (so, most guests). On Saturday night we had to park in the most distant lot which, after getting to our room at the distant end of the fourth floor, was probably a good 1/3 mile walk. Not a big deal for us, but it could be challenging for some guests. The hot tub and pool area are a bit run down, with visible rust on the metal railings and dingy tiles. The hot tub was pretty dirty even though we went early in the day. I'd say that the pool area is great for kids, but not ideal for an adult couple. The steam room was lovely. If you can afford it, spring for the newer rooms with the jacuzzi tubs and ocean views. Otherwise, it just feels like an average hotel so the "resort" feeling is kind of lost. Also, if you go in the wintertime know that very few places are open in the area so it's good for a relaxing escape and certain outdoor activities like xcountry skiing, but not much else.

It is a very nice hotel and very clean.
I would definitely stay there again in the future and would recommend it to others. I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer and would like to have a room where I could see the ocean.

Great Experience !
This was our first experience with Expedia AND Somerset Resort and we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived early and they not only allowed us to enter a room, they upgraded us to a beach view with balcony. The pool was spacious and clean as were their shower/bathroom spaces. The food in their restaurant was also great. The service in the lounge for the Pats/Jets game was very poor but that was our only negative. We'd highly recommend the stay; especially at Expedia rates !!! Thanks for the good time.

Nice but not great
Unfortunately my husband & I don't golf. The golf course looks beautiful though and is right by the sea. I took a walk all the way out to the light house & the walk was peaceful with the sound of the sea crashing into the rocks, the scenery was really nice. Friendly staff throughout the hotel & restaurants. Restaurant/lounge staff are mostly young and very "green". Eager to help and accommodate requests but don't always follow through so have to be a little patient and just go with the flow...unless if you're in a hurry, then keep repeating what you need (coffee, skim milk, water...). Food was all right, nothing to shout about. Brick-oven pizza's a nice touch - had it twice. Once custom-made to my order, which was really good. The other was during the happy hour, which was wayyyy too salty - 4-cheese combo was off. Also need more healthy options - it's almost non-existent. Clean hotel room that needs updating (carpet very worn and needs a deep-clean) and more lighting. Some light bulbs were out so the room looked even more dingy. Beds are very comfy though. The bathroom needs more than just one lamp too. I felt it challenging to have to put on makeup in the dim lighting. One last thing, I was surprised that the hotel didn't accommodate my request for a 12:30 pm checkout, which is only 1/2 hour from the standard. The guy gave me a lame excuse that the room needed to be turned over for other guests. But I know the occupancy isn't full so I didn't appreciate that at all.

Casual luxury
This was a great unstuffy luxury hotel. There is no comparison to the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The only problem I had was the dust on the furniture in the room. The rest of the room was spotless and the linens were pristine. The pool and gym area also close too early. The gym and indoor pool area close at 9:15 pm.
