The cheap, dates option

Posted 17-Feb-2018
I’m not in Revelstoke to sit in my room so this place fits the bill. Old fat TVs with fuzzy cable (it was nostalgic in a way). The bed was obviously well worn in but comfortable after a day on the hill. Sleep, shower and leave. The attached pub has been let go since my last visit. Staff at the pub were more interested in chatting in a corner than peoples empty drinks.

Old and hot, but you’ll get through the night

Posted 12-Feb-2018
Friendly staff, but the place needs a facelift. Enjoy your trip back to the 90s in your passable rooms. The bathroom is... Fine. I actively avoided sitting on the furniture. If you need somewhere to sleep while hitting the slopes, this will get you through, but don’t expect much more.

Not for the light sleeper

Posted 21-Jan-2018
Pros: There is an attached bar/restaurant, lounge area with pool table, video and computer access, comfy chairs and unlimited hot coffee.
Cons: This is an older hotel with walls that do not stop noise from the hallway, adjacent rooms or the exterior of the hotel.
Location: Hotel provides passes to the nearby indoor water park/pool as well as 15% off for breakfast at a nearby cafe. Revelstoke Ski Resort is a short drive.
Our first night stay was without incident. However, on the second night, a Friday night, while management tried to keep things quiet, they were slow to shut-down a 2:45-3:45 am trance and dance session in a nearby room. Even after the loud noise ceased, the baseline and conversation continued until 5:30 am. The third night, at 11:00 pm, the 20-somethings were negotiating in the hallway, but were polite enough to go to their rooms with little more than a look of tired irritation. But then again, at 2:45 the conversation and baseline started-up, this time in the room next door. The manager quickly removed the problem and assured me it was a different group from the previous night.

Ok - Value Hotel

Posted 19-Jan-2018
Seems like the owner is only putting in the bare minimum amount of money to sort-of maintain this place. Rooms are very dated and unclean. The hotel staff was great to deal with. Had an issue with our first rooms cleanliness and them were very prompt at allowing us to change rooms.

Needs work.

Posted 17-Jan-2018
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Everything.
This hotel is in serious need of updates and cleaning. The room smelled terrible when we checked in, and didn't improve during our stay. After our first night, we returned to the room to find notes that said 'Unable to do full cleaning because personal items were left in the way". A pair of pants was left on the bed!

Fine! As it’s an older hotel it isn’t a five star! Staff were very amiable and accommodating!

This hotel was more tolerable when it was cheaper. Great location - walking distance to downtown.

Worst 3 star "hotel" I've ever stayed at

Posted 23-Dec-2017
First, we unfortunately missed out booking due to a snow storm and were unable to cancel or shift around our stay dates because we booked through Expedia. Second, the website said it had a hottub and no, this was a lie. The hotel only provides free pass to an aquatic centre down the street. It's the middle of winter and we were expecting to walk through a lobby to a hottub, let alone get in our vehicles and drive somewhere or walk in minus 15 Celsius. Lastly, the hotel looks like it should be a low 2-star MOTEL. CRT tv (doesnt even work well), dirty walls and carpets, and an overall feel of a dive. We are NOT going to recommend this to a friend or family member, and furthermore we will refrain from booking with Expedia in the future because we couldn't do any negotiating with the hotel staff on date changes/cancellations and because Expedia called this a 3-star hotel.

Rooms need to be cleaned and maintained

Posted 7-Dec-2017
I'm all for budget accommodations but the rooms need to be cleaned and maintained. The carpeted floors were filthy with sunflower seeds and food under the bed, hair in the bathtub, grime on the door beside the doorknob, the mattress was collapsed and needs to be replaced, window blinds had dirt on them, a bedside lamp was bent, and there were 3 used bath towels hanging behind the bathroom door - yuck. The staff were friendly, we had a great meal (German platter) at the onsite restaurant/pub, "The Last Drop" and there was a fun trivia game at the pub, the nearby aquatic center is awesome and passes to it are free with your room booking. I love the ski-bum vibe here and I really want to like this hotel but I can't get past how dirty and poorly maintained it is. At >$80/night...actually, at any price! The rooms should be clean. We won't be returning until we hear this has improved.
