The best time to visit Rennes is generally from late spring to early autumn, specifically May, June, and September, when the weather is mild and pleasant.

May and June offer comfortable temperatures and longer daylight hours, superb for exploring the city's outdoor attractions and enjoying its cafe culture. You'll find the parks and gardens, such as the Thabor Park, in full bloom, making for particularly scenic walks. This period is also ideal for those wanting to combine city exploration with day trips to the coast or other parts of Brittany.

September is another excellent month. The summer crowds have thinned, but the weather remains agreeable for sightseeing. This time of year often features cultural events and festivals, providing a good opportunity to experience local life. It's a great option for couples looking for a relaxed trip without the peak summer hustle.

While July and August are warm, they are also the busiest months, with more tourists and potentially higher prices.
