When we booked our stay, the listing said that there was a “wood burning fireplace” in the cabin (which was one of the reasons why we selected it). Unfortunately, that was inaccurate. Instead, there was a wood stove that contained ceramic logs. And even that wasn’t operational during our stay! Very disappointing. I think the owner (who was very responsive) corrected the listing after we brought it to his attention. Otherwise the cabin was clean and well stocked. The location was also excellent. Very close to downtown Rangeley, with a beautiful view of the lake. One last thing I would say is that the cabin is quite dark (in contrast to the photos online, which show it as being quite bright). They could definitely use more lighting in the kitchen, especially above the stove. But all in all, a charming cabin. We were obviously just disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy a fire.
