Hotel Verdant is a beautifully appointed, welcoming hotel, on a lovely square in Racine. We were extremely impressed with the quality of finishes and the inpeccable cleanliness. The beds were so comfortable and our room was very quiet. There is a beautiful rooftop bar and patio with lovely views of Lake Michigan. The various staff were lovely and accommodating. We will stay there again when we're in the Milwaukee area. There's a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel. For breakfast we chose to go across the plaza to the Red Onion cafe. The food there was fabulous!! There's a greenspace next to the plaza that takes you toward Lake Michigan, for a morning walk before starting your day. This hotel and it's surrounds are gems, waiting to be discovered.

The thermostat would not go above 69 degrees in the room. 2 night stay. Ended up buying a space heater. For a $430 stay. 😡 Was told it works with a motion sensor. And that after 8 pm it would stay at desired set temp. Not so.

We are sorry to hear that the room thermostat wasn't up to your liking. The room's only going to 69 is certainly not the case with our rooms. We do apologize that this happened with your stay.

Great but.....
This was my second time staying here and both were great. My one complaint is the Fitness Center. There is one barbell with no bench or rack and only one of each plates for that barbell. This makes no sense at all and makes it seem that the strength equipment is more so for esthetic than actual use.

The front desk was not cheery or helpful. Snowstorm and still made it in, needed bags watched, had to ask about parking, far away hard to find, no smiles, made me ask for everything even knowing two people were staying. Ate at the beautiful restaurant-servers and food were all great! Had drinks up top, fun bar and staff. We will stay here again, beautiful rooms.

This critique rating is totally based on the fact that the toilet was not cleaned from previous use. Someone had defecated previously and the cleaning staff did not clean the mess. This left me with an uneasy feeling the rest of the night such that I woke up early and left the property at 5 am the next morning. Because of this, I can not recommend this property to others.

Parking is a problem they are working on. Tv remotes are not very user friendly. Enjoyed the roof top bar and outdoor seating. Next visit will have to try the attached restaurant.
