Your location off the Taconic was 17-20 miles from everything and everywhere on our list. It was an easy drive to friends near Albany and Chatham offered lots of restaurant choices and shopping with independent business owners-just like small town America used to be. Conservation area right down the road and beautiful drive to Great Barrington via Hillsdale or Rt 71 to Egermont. Country setting away from the summer crowds at Great Barrington and Tanglewood. The previous reviewer is correct on the hotel web- bring your snacks and supplies with you- no convenience stores near by. Enjoy the balcony. There is also a common room with the fireplace and outdoor chairs off the common room. Best of luck to the owners. Holly is very devoted.
