The Chateau Laurier is well located on the Grand Allee, just a short walk from the Port (Gate) Saint-Louis and the beginning of Old Quebec. The property is a block away from the Plains of Abraham where the battle took place between the French and British back in 1759. The battlefield is now a wonderful park to be enjoyed yesterday-round.
We walked everywhere! Yes, there are plenty of ups and downs, but that is the charm of the city with its narrow cobblestone streets. Plenty of restaurants and quaint shops abound.
Our room included a very comfortable king bed, gas fireplace —- wonderful during our time in December to check out the Christmas Market. It also had a jacuzzi which we used most nights after spending the day sightseeing. We loved the hotel, the room, the location, and the staff. A special shout out to William, the daytime concierge for his insight into the culture and his vast number of recommendations. We would definitely stay here upon our next visit.
