Find hotels in Puente Viejo from CA $58

The best area to stay in Puente Viejo is the historic centre, particularly around the Plaza Mayor and the streets immediately surrounding it.

The historic centre is the heart of Puente Viejo, characterised by its narrow, cobbled streets and traditional Andalusian architecture. The Plaza Mayor, with its impressive fountain and surrounding arcaded buildings, is the focal point. From here, you're just a short stroll from the Mirador de la Luna, offering stunning views of the valley, and the ancient Puente Romano bridge. This area is very walkable, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find the historic centre particularly appealing. The charming boutique hotels, many housed in converted historic buildings, offer an intimate setting. Evenings can be spent enjoying tapas in the quaint restaurants or simply wandering the beautifully lit streets.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience, the residential areas just outside the immediate historic core, such as the area near the Jardines del Parador, offer a quieter stay. You're still within easy walking distance of all the main attractions but benefit from a more peaceful environment.

The best time to visit Puente Viejo is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

Spring in Puente Viejo brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the historic town centre and surrounding countryside. The landscape is lush and green, and the scent of orange blossoms fills the air. This period is great for couples who enjoy leisurely strolls and al fresco dining without the intense summer heat.

Autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 20°C and 28°C, with slightly cooler evenings. The grape harvest season adds a local touch, and the changing colours of the vineyards provide a picturesque backdrop. This is a great time for solo travellers interested in local culture and outdoor activities like hiking, as the trails are less crowded and the weather is conducive to longer excursions.

While summer (July and August) offers long, sunny days, temperatures can often exceed 35°C, which can be intense for sightseeing.
