Comfy family-friendly log-sided home with lake frontage and dock

*** Looking to rent to travelling professionals. If you are an employee traveling on business please contact us to inquire about being accommodated at the per diem rate.***

Welcome to our comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath home! The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the quaint pond and relaxing brook with blackout curtains when you’d like to settle in for a nap. It’s also equipped with a walk-in closet, dressers, a queen-sized comfort-foam bed, basic fitness equipment and a window air-conditioner.

The 2nd upstairs bedroom is perfect for naptime - with blackout curtains, twin-sized bunk beds and a crib. It is also equipped with a dresser, child-sized desk and a window air-conditioner. The 3rd bedroom is downstairs and doubles as a playroom / game-room with TV. It has a fold-out futon as a sleeping surface and a window air-conditioner.

In the cold months, the house is heated with a quiet baseboard hot water system. Clothes washer and dryer are available in the basement laundry room (the remainder of the basement is unfinished and inaccessible). The house has a high-capacity water-heating system that allows for long baths and showers without worrying about feeling cool-water.

The house has a gently flowing brook on one side, a pond, and a private boardwalk to the back which leads through a small wetland and to our frontage and dock on Lewy Lake. A kayak and canoe are available for use on the pond and lake. The dock is available if you bring your boat. Lewy Lake connects with many other waterways including the St. Croix River, which serves as the international border between the United States and Canada, Big Lake, Grand Lake Stream and others. There are many opportunities for boating, diverse fishing, exploring uninhabited islands, natural areas, primitive camping and visiting nearby communities like Grand Lake Stream and Indian Township by water.

The house is located in the town of Princeton within walking distance to a traditional restaurant, park, convenience stores, grocery store, bank and churches. Public ATV / Snowmobile trails are accessible from the property without trailering. 15 minute drive to Woodland Mill.

Sadly, due to severe allergies of a member of our family, we cannot accommodate any animals inside the home.

Comfort in the Quiet
This house was what I was looking for. On a lake, close to necessities but still had a country feel to it, and WiFi. Most of my time was out exploring, but it was nice to come back to a home and not another hotel room. Even caught quite a few fish while I was there.

A great close to summer
My teenage son and I had a wonderful week at the end of summer just relaxing and fishing. Caleb and Miriam went out of their way to make us comfortable (without being obtrusive). We would definitely come back again.

Perfect respite from our busy life
This house was a wonderful place for my family to stay for a week. We really felt like it was home. There were so many extra things provided for our use, that it was nice to not have to worry about every little thing. My kids loved all the toys and games in the house, and we all enjoyed using the kayaks, canoe, and firepit. Princeton is a tiny town, the exact opposite of a "touristy" area, but there were places to buy what we needed. It was exactly what we were looking for, for a relaxing weekend being closer to nature. The homeowners were right next door if we needed them, and very prompt about answering any questions we had. We had a wonderful week, and will definitely consider returning.

Maine Stay
The owner's, Caleb and Miriam, we great. We brought our own personal items, but they had everything you would need. The town doesn't have much to offer but if you are an avid fisherman, hiker, or wanted to visit Canada, this would be an ideal place. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

Nice and relaxing
We enjoyed the evenings sitting on the porch listening to the frogs and on one night two deer walked right next to porch. We had one little hiccup at the house and it was taken care of right away! 5+++

Quiet, Private, and Clean!
The hosts of this property have ensured you'll have everything needed in this well-provisioned property, right down to the kayaks and a canoe with life preservers for lake outings. There is excellent communication and every effort made to assist with scheduling, etc. Check in was effortless, the MBR bed comfortable, and blackout curtains for light sleepers were appreciated. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Our stay was wonderful. If we had questions the owner was very quick to answer. The home was very clean and the supplies were plenty. The area was very quiet and the lake was so calming. The only thing we would suggest is a BBQ and better outdoor chairs for lounging on the deck. We will be recommending this home to our friends. Love it ❤️

Lake adventures
Our favorite part of this home was the provided canoe. A quick walk across the pond's private boardwalk and you're there. We explored the lake three days straight and it never got old (first boat adventure for the kiddos). We were also lucky enough to see a snapping turtle laying her eggs right on the property!

Weekend getaway
We appreciated the communication from the start of pre reservation to post stay. The hosts wanted to make sure we were taken care of. We were in the area for a graduation and this home was a perfect spot for us to stay a few nights comfortably and also take advantage of the lake for fishing and a canoe/kayak ride as time allowed. Highly recommend.

Great place in some of the most peaceful and quiet places in Maine!
Great sized house, newly updated and comfortable for any type of getaway. The house has a welcoming atmosphere for both single couples or couples with children. The hosts do an incredible job with communication and are very hospitable. There are a few gas stations and a local grocery store that is well stocked 5 minutes down the road.

What we needed!
Caleb and Miriam's home was well stocked with supplies that made our stay easier. Little things like extra paper towels, loads of nice clean white towels for the bathrooms, vinegar (which I used to wash my veggies), bottled water, baggies, and extra dish sponges helped. The bathrooms were nice and clean - which is and sheets and coverings seemed freshly cleaned - usually where I am the most picky in this covid era of ours. Miriam and Caleb were also very responsive and respectful of our privacy - they live right next door. We needed a way to light a campfire and they were on top of helping with supplies - left supplies at the front door in a matter of minutes. We found the lake and kayak and canoe the perfect way to unwind, enjoy the quiet and slow down. There is a great spot for a campfire and a perfectly sturdy private dock. I had brought beach chairs from my house so we had an ideal reading spot to relax. We did bring a lot of our own food in anticipation of limited stores but for the things we forgot, we were able to find enough what we needed in the town's grocery store and hardware store (bought a campfire grill top we used to cook one night that made all the difference, dishwashing gloves, lettuce). In essence, the experience was what we needed and we appreciated Caleb and Miriam's warm welcome, kind and willing attitude.

relaxing place to stay
Myself and the rest of the family really enjoyed our stay in Princeton. The location of the house has a nice privacy vibe to it, helped by the pond/wetlands behind it. Loved walking the boardwalk to get to the water and hearing all the birds and frogs and seeing the occasional deer. The dock faces west and you can get a great view of the sunset. This is a very rural area but has a grocery store and gas station practically right around the corner. We kayaked, fished and took advantage of several hiking options in the area. Also noticed there're many ATV trails around if that's your thing. The hosts were very nice, leaving some fire wood, a basket of snacks & some bottled water (house uses well water). We found everything we needed but they checked in a couple times on VRBO just to make sure we were all good. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice and quiet
What a nice quiet and relaxing time we all had. There was more than enough room for all 6 of us. There was a nice size yard to relax and play. We had a fire in the fire pit by the pond. Tho we do not use the pond there was a kayak and conoe to use and she provided life jackets. House was nice and clean but hot we went during a heat wave but air condition was provided in upstairs bedrooms so comfortable sleeping 😃. Clean house comfortable beds and great host. All in all just a fantastic family vacation!!

Quiet getaway from hustle/bustle
Throughout the rental experience the hosts stayed in contact with us to ensure our needs were being met. They went above and beyond our expectations and provided us a fire pit upon inquiry. The house was easy to find and was very welcoming. It had a country feel in the kitchen area but yet was cabin like in the sunroom and on the outside because of the log cabin look and the location…which I’ll get to that later:). When we first walked in, we noticed a basket of snacks, some bottled water and a nice welcome note from the hosts. The sunroom on the back of the house was a beautiful addition and we utilized it quite a bit b/c lots of deer, rabbits and birds frequented the backyard. There was a nice deck with outdoor furniture off the sunroom that led out to the boardwalk. We all had plenty of room and the toy room and games saved the day when it rained! What we absolutely loved the most was the wonderful spot out back off the boardwalk. We spent much of our time fishing off the dock; it was full of perch, bass, pickerel, and plenty of sun fish for the kiddos. We took the canoe out a few times as well; the hosts kindly provided the life jackets for us. There’s also a pond adjacent to the river where we saw lots of frogs, a few turtles and a snake! We finished our evenings with s’mores! Great memories!
