A great spot in a great city!
The photos drew us in, and the reality did not disappoint! Great location, easy parking and close to two bus lanes. 7 minute walk to watch the sunrise, bagels 4 minutes away.

Perfect spot
The Globe House was the perfect spot for our friends gathering. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with many thoughtful amenities. Rita made sure we had everything we needed and the book in the apartment had great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. Would definitely book again when in Portland.

We truly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the globe house, it’s very clean , the kitchen has everything we need with if we are cooking . The bathroom and shower is also very clean. The backyard view is also spectacular watching the sunset. Rita is such a great host , she’s very accommodating and attend to our needs if we ever have one!

End of Summer Getaway
The apartment owners set us up for success with our 20mo old!!! We did not have to pack the necessary items needed when traveling with a child. The location is wonderful and walkable to many shops, restaurants, and parks! Also, the apartment is inviting and stylish and offered much more room than any hotel in the area!

Wonderful experience
We had a great stay at Ryan and Rita’s home. The neighborhood was great, a short walk to cafes, bars, restaurants and the beautiful eastern promenade. Home away from home!
Globe House was the perfect home base for our family of four in town for a Labor Day weekend wedding. The location was great and the apartment was impeccably clean, the kitchen well appointed, and the entire space artfully decorated. Our hosts Ryan and Rita were welcoming and responsive. They thought of all the little things to make us feel at home, including a chilled bottle of wine that awaited us upon arrival and everything we needed for morning coffee!

Fantastic stay
We had an amazing stay at the Globe House. The space is beautiful and bright and beautifully appointed. The kitchen was very well stocked and everything was very comfortable. Great for kids. Pull out couch in the living room was super comfortable. And the location of this home cannot be beat. Walkable to lots of great restaurants. Great but peaceful neighborhood. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The spot was amazing. The location is great, it's clean, everything is really kept up nicely. There were also nice little details like a jar of Hershey chocolate for our kids that were nice touches. They are also responses hosts. Highly recommended.

Midweek stay in Portland
Overall, the property was as advertised. Like most listings on VRBO, the communication with property manager was great. No issues. I believe the property manager/family live above this space on the second floor. They were quite and unobtrusive with lots of nice touches throughout the house. Although you didn't have the house to yourself (which they clearly stated in the description), it was nice space that felt similar to hotel. Older, charming house. Some quirks (uneven floors, go thru one bedroom to get to the other) but you would expect that in an order home. Fairly quite neighborhood and some cool spots within a short walk. Seem to be a nice mix of families (mostly) and singles. Good choice is your looking for a good value in the family neighborhood in Portland.

Terrific trip
Portland is a super fun and funky place, and our stay here was the same! The Globe House was the perfect place to take in all that Portland has to offer. We walked everywhere! Owners were super responsive and their booklet of ideas and suggestions had something for everyone. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. We really enjoyed the beautiful home and our stay in Portland.

A Wonderful Experience
The owners go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The home is centrally located around excellent breweries (we tried APRES and Maine Craft Distillery) and awesome restaurants you could walk or drive to. We stayed with our 4 month old and the owners provided us with a foldable pack n play, a baby swing, high chair, toys and books. They were in contact with us before our trip to give us recommendations, inform us where to park etc. They provided their phone number in case we needed it as well. The bed was comfortable, the home is clean and bright and it has a very good ‘Maine’ vibe. There was a great welcome binder full of recommendations all throughout Portland. It’s evident that the owners really care and want you to enjoy the beautiful city of Portland. Absolutely recommend and already looking forward to trip #2 next year.

Loved our stay in this compact, joyfully decorated first floor flat on Munjoy Hill. The view through the bedroom windows is stunning. The kitchen has just the right mix of equipment, the living room is cozy for family hangouts, and communication with our hosts was top-notch. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay here in Portland. This rental is in a great location not far from the water front, where we went for a walk and went kayaking. Quiet Neighborhood
There were 3 of us, more than enough space for us. Each had own sleeping arrangements. Parking was easy and free. Kitchen well equipped. It looked just like the pictures on line. As long as you don't mind walking, you can easily get to the water and downtown areas. I would felt more comfortable with better privacy curtains in the living room for night time and even for early morning daylight.

Beautiful property with lots of personal touches and super helpful hosts
We were beyond impressed with this stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone, especially if traveling with children. The views from the bedrooms are stunning and ambience is created with lots of love and attention to detail. Rita and Ryan even thought to put toys and books in the living room for our toddler. We will definitely stay again!

Portland Perfection.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Globe House. The neighborhood was residential and perfect with kids with two parks nearby. We had a car so it was convenient to get around but if you don’t mind walking, two blocks down the hill was a few of our favorite local spots. The owners were responsive and although they lived upstairs, it never was an issue for us. Parking is on the street but we always found parking. The kitchen is well appointed with necessities, the natural light in the living room in the mornings is worth the early wake up, and the history of the home is magical. Our kids loved having a spacious tv area while I loved sitting in the bay window. The rooms are railroad style but perfect with kids. Portland was great to us and we welcomed the slow pace feel of Themis place being from Miami. Portland Perfection.

This apartment is so great! Perfect location, we only used the car one day for a drive and dinner, otherwise we walked everywhere. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful sunset view, comfortable beds and furniture and attentive hosts. We appreciated the great coffee, condiments in fridge, high quality appliances and amenities, and a TV that was easy to use with all the streaming services we could desire! Highly recommend.

Top of the Hill
Ryan and Rita are wonderful, attentive hosts with a wealth of information about the Portland area. The apartment is everything it appears to be in the online photos, light, spacious and airy with a Mediterranean feel. The art is tasteful, the kitchen is user friendly and the beds are very comfortable. We have stayed on Munjoy Hill several times and this is our new favorite place to stay. The surrounding area continues to grow in a nice way with new restaurants and friendly locals. Thanks for the garden goodies and the flowers!

Great for young families
Our family, including our 5 and 6 year old children, explored Portland from this great Munjoy Hill apartment. The adjacent bedrooms were perfect for our family and we all loved the playground we could walk to on the Eastern promenade. The hosts were extremely responsive and had amazing suggestions for everything from restaurants to beaches. There are so many breweries within walking distance that we didn’t have time to visit them all during our short stay…when I return to sample the ones we missed, I will definitely stay here again!

The art, colors, and comfort level of all the amenities at the home on Munjoy Hill were great. The rooms were airy and light filled with high ceilings and had everything you need. The location is easy and convenient to downtown. There is a lovely park nearby with great views over the city and bay. The property description was accurate, and Rita and Ryan were friendly, and helpful in every way. We would recommend it to anyone!

A gem on Munjoy Hill!
This apartment on Munjoy Hill is just lovely. You can’t beat the location which is only blocks away from the Eastern Promenade. The space is clean and bright with beautiful morning light illuminating through the huge bay window. In the evening the yard offers an amazing view of Portland at sunset. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Rita and Ryan were wonderful hosts who were quick to respond. We appreciated the bottle of red wine and jar of chocolate kisses we found a upon our arrival. I would certainly suggest booking this spot. You won’t regret it.

This is a lovely space, well located, with gorgeous light and thoughtful furnishings, plants as well as a range of art and books inspired by wanderlust. Comfortable, beautiful and functional all in one. And the owners were available to answer questions and help with unusual requests. We were just sad not to get to meet the litte girls upstairs in person because of COVID.

What a wonderful time we had on Munjoy Hill. The owners, Rita and Ryan, were true hosts. The house was exactly as we imagined and was stocked with everything we needed for a four night stay + some. The guidebook to Portland that they put together was incredible! We checked off so many places of the list. And Rita was sweet to text last minute ideas and finds to ensure we didn’t miss a beat. By far the highlight of the stay for my two kids was meeting the owners two girls in the stunning backyard. Darling! Munjoy is such a great neighborhood too. So scenic. Close to everything. We walked to get pastries, coffee, lunch and go to breweries. And great parks and vistas for the kids nearby. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for a family of four, a couple or small group! Hope to be back soon!
