This is a nice motel and it was very clean. Covid precautions were in place as per the relaxed rules in the state of Oregon presently.
I booked the room to stay the night so that I could drop off my children at the airport the following day. Money is tight, and my budget was not very flexible. So when the front desk receptionist told me that not only did they want my card for possible charges, but that they were going to charge me money, I was surprised. This was never mentioned when I booked the room, and it impacted my budget for the following day and my drive home (five hours away). When I messaged the front desk and asked if the charges would be refunded, and when, I received no response.
The motel has a restaurant that was filled with people on the evening we arrived. Few people were wearing masks, and social distancing was not being practiced. I assumed the people were vaccinated, and had no problem with this. However, the "free breakfast" offered in the morning in lieu of a real continental breakfast allegedly because of Covid was totally pathetic. An impatient old woman stood behind a counter and you had to ask her for your little packaged muffin, or your orange. If you want coffee, it is in the lobby, but no other drinks are offered, so my kids, who do not drink coffee, were out of luck. If this pathetic "free breakfast" was thusly arranged because of Covid, what is the excuse for having a packed restaurant in the very same space the evening before?
