"My wife and enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Very beautiful scenery! Very clean inside and out. The breakfast was delicious at the dining hall. I had the breakfast tacos. There is a lot to do at the lodge. We took the wildlife river boat tour and it was amazing, highly recommend it."

Relax on a Beautiful River in a Natural Florida Setting

"Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us. All the sounds that you can hear while sitting on the porch, watching the mullet jump in the river was undescribable. It is truly a relaxing place to unwind from all the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked every meal there, so we didn’t lack for anything. The beds were comfortable and the over all decor of the cabin reminded me of grandmas house. Thank you again and we will be back."

"Booking this stay was incredibly easy. Hosts are responsive and very accommodating. Price was great, especially considering that we thought the property was even better in person. Pictures truly don’t do it justice. The small town of Panacea is a breath of fresh air. Not your typical touristy beach town. We wanted to have a slow, low stim vacation with our young kids and that’s exactly what we got. There are still enough restaurants to choose from if you want to eat out every night in the town and even more within a 20 minute drive. If you want to stay in and cook, the kitchen has plenty of room and is stocked well. Large dining table with more than enough room. The living area large and comfy. We didn’t use the second bedroom beds because our kids are still in pack and plays. Two fit in the room just fine. The master bedroom mattress was genuinely one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. Screened in porch was amazing to relax in and let in 0 bugs somehow. So impressed. Our absolute favorite part though was the yard and little beach on the bay. Our kids can’t stand to be inside and they played for HOURS in the good sized yard. We watched stingrays, fish, and birds in the bay. The only thing I’d tell people to consider is that the beach can be a drive. The closest beach, Mashes Sands, had almost no shoreline so you’ll need to drive \- 20 minutes for a beach. This didn’t bother us at all. There is virtually no traffic and tons of options."

"When we arrived there was construction happening in front of the property (building a house directly in front of this one). Unfortunately it was blocking the unobstructed ocean view that was advertised. The construction was going to take place during the entire time of our stay. I contacted the host Kevin to let him know of the construction and that we would prefer to move to a different property since it was not as advertised and the noise would be an issue. . He was very understanding and we worked out to stay a couple days until after the holiday weekend so to be able to move to another property. He offered a refund for the days we would be leaving and even allowed for a late checkout to check into the new property. He was an awesome host and very accommodating for the unfortunate timing of the construction . Unfortunately VRBO didn't offer a refund on the taxes and fees (they only offered a small vrbo credit) so I ended up paying an extra few hundred dollars to move locations. Overall given that neither us, nor the host, knew about the construction we worked it out the best we could. Kevin was one of the best hosts to deal with. Wish the house construction wasn't taking place and we could have stayed the entire week."
