This hotel does not deserve it's name. Look at the pictures. The window is held closed by a screw attached to some piece of wood, bed leg and bathroom sink legs are crooked. The toilet flush is in a inconvenient spot to say the least. The carpet is full of stains. There was a cricket under the bread which by the way free breakfast is cereals and toasts only. Do not waste your time, sleep in your car.
Our television in the room did not work. We changed rooms. The toilet did not work properly, the bed and bedding were something to be desired. We paid thru Expedia and the front desk took our card number and wanted to charge us, because they couldn’t collect from you guys.
The motel property was not appealing Inside everything was good. Because of the surrounding exterior, we missed the sign. Although the building stood out, we did not realize it was the motel and we passed it going 15 minutes out of our way. I would like a full breakfast not just the small amount offered
The room was dated and there was a spider web in one corner. The TV had to be turned on at the set and the volume control as well. Poor signage travelling from the east. Light fixtures falling off the wall.
Clean basic room. When we first walked in there was a bit of a damp musty smell, I didn’t notice it once we ran the air conditioning for awhile. Fine for an overnight. Close to the causeway and a truck stop diner nearby.
Not a lot of options in the area less than $100 so we went for this one. Pay a little more and get a LOT more. This is a motel (back your car up to the room entrance type of place). Hasn't been updated since probably the 1980's. When we pulled up, I had to suck my breath in. We made the best of it, but there's a reason they don't have pictures of their building.
Gave me a room where the bathroom sink did not drain, then moved me to a second room that had ? blood stains on the wall.
Was surprised that a simple cold breakfast was included. That was appreciated
Out of the way...our room after 3 changes had lamanent floors which we liked.dark in the room, toilet broken, cold and heat would not come on.t.v. would not work either. We would NOT stay there again.

Great view of Canso Causeway. Close to museum and information center. Great staff! My pillows smelled funny, though, and when I asked for replacements I was told it was the carpet that smelled musty. Ewww! Room was basic, mattress hard, shower broken, and door warped. But the location was just what I wanted and the tv and WiFi worked, so I was not unhappy.
Room was basic but clean. Peggy was helpful at check-in. Dining room has a great view of Porcupine. Port Hastings Museum is just down the hill and the causeway is close by. Breakfast was adequate but not inspired.

Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate your feed back.
They lie. Dirty. We booked a king room called and even confirmed two hour prior to arrival and they then gave it to someone else. Smells and is in terrible condition. I would rather sleep in my car next time.

Close to museum and other entertainment. Church supper next door was convenient,
My booking through Expedia indicated a special rate of $89.00 plus tax, however, I was charged $110.00 plus tax when I was sent my itinerary via email so that is what the Thriftlodge charged me.
No hot water at vanity...had to use bathtub each time when washing hands, shaving, brushing teeth, etc. Heat & Air unit was inoperable. Bugs in unit due to management leaving each unit's outside door open before check-in. Check-in took 30 minutes, while the manager/owner did miscellaneous computer work without assisting. Overall poor property condition.
Great location for travel between Cape Breton (Cabot Trail) and mainland Nova Scotia. Very convenient to Highway. (Did not have time to look around Port Hastings, so can't comment on area).
Continental breakfast (incl cereal) served until 10;00, later than most motels.
Our room (117?) was easily accessible from outside (car parked), or inside to lobby & breakfast room.
Very good value for the price.
Name of hotel is Victoria Inn on main highway not near Baddeck, so it was difficult to find.
It was good value for money, clean but rather tired. New owner in last few months.

Avery tired building, in need of a lot of repairs
Staff were helpful
I liked that it had a balconey but did not like the customer service whats so ever i was rushed out at check out time and had terrible issues checking in, would not reccomend this to anybody
It's an old motel and there's no getting around that fact. Still, it was clean, there was air conditioning, the free breakfast was appreciated, and we experienced no problems during our stay.
Surprisingly good.
They are short staff so be patient.
Rooms are simple but pretty clean.
No fridge. No microwave.
Carpets need to be re done.
Breakfast is non existent.
