"We truly enjoyed the amazing views from the deck and living room. The houseplants also gave it a nice and homey feeling. However, overall there were things that were missing in truly welcoming guests (us) into their vacation rental and it felt uncomfortable. Namely: only 1 of the 3 beds had a bed frame. The owner had left personal items in the closets and kitchen cabinets, including food. The overall cleanliness of the house was lacking and I ended up cleaning part of the kitchen before I felt...

"We found the property quite beautifully situated on a large, private lot, offering a stunning view of the water. The room was comfortable and clean and well appointed. Steve has provided much informative material to help with event planning in the community. Very enjoyable experience."

"The Pioneer Inn is an older property which appears from the outside to have seen better days. However the friendly new owners are upgrading the interior. Our room was spacious & the beds were lovely. The floors were redone with new flooring , bathrooms vanity. etc. The restaurant which is run by the hotel owners has delicious Asian food. I enjoyed the beautifully presented tempura."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better home base to explore North Vancouver Island. The property was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It was the perfect place to relax after days spent exploring the area.The location was peaceful, the views were beautiful, and we especially appreciated the chance to slow down and enjoy the incredible scenery that makes Port McNeill so special. Communication with Ray was excellent from start to finish, friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Some advice preload the lock box code as there is zero reception. This stay became a special part of our family’s memories as we shared this adventure with my parents during their cross-Canada journey. Thank you, Ray, for your hospitality and for providing such a wonderful place to stay. We would happily return and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area."

"The house was very clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and a wonderful abundance of houseplants. The view was truly fabulous, whether sunny or rainy; it was mesmerizing watching the fog roll through. The owner kindly shared tips and suggestions for the area. Some of the windows lacked screens and some furniture and appliances were on the older side, but everything worked well. Overall, a serene, cozy experience. We'd love to stay there again!"

"I can't say enough Orca Lodge and it's staff and owners. The best equipped kitchenette we've come across and the ocean front accommodations were awesome. The 75th birthday wishes complete with a saxophone playing happy birthday for my wife was awesome and something she will remember. Thank you Tina and company. We also got a flat tire with the owner putting us in touch with a local islander with a tire fixing unit. A trip saver as the new SUV does not come with a donut tire and no garages on Malcolm Island. Only bad thing was weather raining on our last day there. Will come again."
