10/10 Excellent
"Great room with a balcony and beautiful view of the mountains. Wonderful restaurant choices. Huge spread for breakfast. The pool sauna and hot tubs were perfect after a day of hiking the beautiful mountains surrounding this destination. Parking is however extremely limited we had to pay for parking as there wasnt enough room in their lot"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Podeni?
The best areas to stay in Podeni, Mehedinți County, are generally within the village centre or the surrounding, slightly elevated areas that offer views of the Danube River.

The village centre provides the most convenient access to local amenities and the main road. Here, you'll find the local church, small shops, and traditional guesthouses. It's a good spot for those who appreciate being close to the heart of village life and don't mind a more residential setting.

For travellers seeking a more tranquil experience with scenic views, the guesthouses situated on the hills overlooking the Danube are an excellent choice. These locations, often just a short drive or walk from the village centre, typically offer more expansive properties and a greater sense of privacy. They are particularly well-suited for couples looking for a relaxing escape, with opportunities for quiet walks and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.
When is the best time to go to Podeni?
The best time to visit Podeni, Mehedinți County, Romania, is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

You'll find the countryside lush and green in spring, and adorned with beautiful colours in autumn, making outdoor activities particularly enjoyable.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the tranquillity of these shoulder seasons. You can enjoy leisurely walks through the rolling hills, visit local wineries, or simply relax amidst the natural surroundings. The lack of large crowds during these times enhances the serene experience.

For solo travellers seeking an authentic connection with nature and local culture, these months provide an excellent opportunity.
