Winter, spring, summer, or fall, you'll delight in the beautiful woodland setting of this cabin in Plymouth, ideally situated a short drive from world-class ski slopes, sparkling lakes, and some of the prettiest foliage you've ever seen. This peaceful cabin is tucked into the forest less than eight miles southeast of Killington Ski Area (and even closer to the Skyeship Base Lodge). Here along the chain of lakes, Pico Mountain and Okemo Mountain are within a 15-mile drive while state parks, state forests, and scenic hiking trails await in every direction. Walls of windows and multiple skylights seem to bring the woods into the living space. At the heart of the house is a two-sided, stacked-stone hearth, with a woodstove to warm you as you stream movies on the living room TV, share meals at the dining room table, or pull up a chair to the desk area to catch up on a few emails. In the pristine summer months, you'll have use of a back deck that runs the length of the house with a gas grill and a picnic table for alfresco meals. Additional features include two bedrooms with forest views, a private washer/dryer, and complimentary WiFi throughout the house. This is such a great little cabin. The beds were comfortable, the living and dining room spaces were so nice to relax in with beautiful views out the big windows into the woods, and there are some great board games! The kitchen has pretty much everything you would need to cook meals. The location is great, close to multiple ski mountains and hiking trails, and maybe 25 mins to Rutland. Loved the deck overlooking the trees and the large windows that opened to let the outside air in. Kitchen had everything needed utensils and cooking wise. Only thing Id mention is the abundance of daddy long legged spiders on the deck (you get what you get in the deep woods for bugs tho lol) and that there were carpenter ants near the trash the more it filled up. Our biggest problem was the lack of lighting in the dining area. There was only a single light that pointed at the fireplace and there was no other light in that are. We had to bring a table lamp and plug it in beside the table to get enough light to eat and play car games. There was also a lack of lights in the bedrooms and there was very few outlets. Also, the entire porch railing was broken and had fallen off, making it a real hazard out there so we didn’t get to utilize the porch at all. There also wasn’t any tools for the fireplace, such as a glove for the hot handle or a shovel to shovel the ashes out (even though you were required to do that before you left). There definitely were mice present, but we didn’t really mind. We just made sure to keep all food stored in the microwave or in a bin and we didn’t have any problems. Apr 3, 2024 #### Ski Cabin Experience Marred by Cleanliness and Communication Failures Our experience at this cabin was significantly dampened by cleanliness issues and a complete lack of communication from the host. The cabin's prime location and the comfort of clean, cozy beds were overshadowed by several m concerns. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a damaged screen door lying on the ground, signaling the beginning of our disappointing stay. Inside, the cleanliness was far from satisfactory, with dirty dishes, utensils, grimy floors, dusty cupboards, cobwebs, and mouse droppings on the kitchenware. The sight of a mouse running across our bed and persistent large ants in the kitchen heightened our discomfort. The bathroom wasn't better off, with noticeable grime and residue in the shower. The kitchen posed its own set of challenges, particularly the lack of a sink plug, which made washing dishes very difficult. The absence of basic kitchen essentials like dish towels and storage containers, along with outdated appliances, further detracted from our experience. Our attempts to contact the host for assistance were futile, as we received no response throughout our stay, exacerbating our frustration and leaving us feeling completely unsupported. Despite its potential for a perfect ski getaway, the cabin's poor state of cleanliness and the host's non-responsiveness have left us with a less-than-favorable impression. Jan 26, 2025 Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Great location and cabin but There were mice and mice droppings all over. Had some visit the kitchen counter after cooking and watched them scurry down behind the oven. Every morning we woke up to the sound of them in the walls and fresh mice droppings on the counters! Not to mention the amount of droppings there were in the lower kitchen cabinets. I’ve stayed in more run down ski cabins in the woods that didn’t have a rodent issue like this. Only giving this two stars because of the great location and what could be a lovely rustic cabin if it were cleaned up. Jun 17, 2024 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### RENTER BEWARE! When we arrived at the home, it was filthy. There was rust in the refrigerator trash in the couch dust everywhere. There were so much dust on the ceiling fan. If we turned it on, it would’ve flown everywhere. We did not even unpack our belongings. We drove to the center of South Woodstock and rented a hotel. I would never recommend this home to anyone. I have pictures to back up everything and plan on sharing them so that people are aware before they rent. There is Wi-Fi, but the signal is so weak. You cannot do much with it! Huge disappointment and very stressful to have to find someplace else to stay when there was very little availability! ##### Amy M.
