This place had an amazing atmosphere. First resort I have ever been to with brilliant entertainment - like really good entertainment we loved absolutely everything about that. The silent disco, pool foam party and fire show were outstanding. I would recommend paying for a pool cabana for a day! Service is great that way. Only downside was the seaweed season was so rife they had loads of rotting seaweed on the poolside beach area which did massively stink out that area and the adjacent rooms. If that was cleared it would have literally been amazing. The northfromt beach access was fine though and the air conditioned rooms had no bad smell. In all a brilliant brilliant place to stay for a fun getaway! The food was also really good at the buffet but the room service is a bit of a no go. Thank you wydham for a fabulous stay :)

This trip was supposed to be special for our 30 th anniversary. I wanted to cry when we finally got there. This resort had NO beach. The little there is has seaweed that smells like raw sewage.covering it from gates to ocean. The mixed drinks barely have a splash of alcohol. I watched as they made drinks for about 20 min. Everybody wants you to spend money. I booked FULL OCEAN VIEW and they said will if you lean off the balcony and look to the right you can see it. Soo $200 upgrade. Waiters ignore you unless you tip. I asked if there was sister hotel we could spend the day at the beach and they just tried to sell me $300 excursions. I bought pictures from an onsite photographer for over $100 from a romantic dinner I booked and have not received the email with the pictures. The roof top dinner was a joke at another $200.00 I do not recommend this super smelly money pit. I really tried to make it special with upgrades and dinner but we were very disappointed.

Some staff is in really bad mode, pool very dirty, it’s an all inclusive resort and all the time the staff said don’t have that product. I don’t recommend this resort

I purchased a junior suite and the picture showed a view of the ocean I get there and the room is a suite but facing a block wall with no view and they say if I want ocean view I have to pay an extra 280$ and then every excursion activity you can purchase once you get there they try to get you to pay extra money for the same thing you already bought saying they could upgrade it but it’s not they just try to get extra money out of all the time for nothing and the pool gave me a rash all over and they tried to say it was a heat rash

Food was overcooked, very bland the buffet was left out for too long. All breads and foods were stale. The sound of the town was very intrusive on the peace and serenity. When they mention a partial view of the ocean they mean a tiny glimpse from the corner of your balcony. The drinks tasted horrible, almost like plastic. There's no security in the front of the hotel, anybody from town can just walk right into the hotel.

Excellent place. Very clean and staff is amazing, they will do the best to make you feel welcome. I was surprised the entertainment was very early and lasted less than an hour. Overall I enjoyed my stay and had a really good time.

Place was nice the first day we got in.. my friend got some bites on her skin and we thought they were mosquitoes… comes to find out the next morning we woke up to beg bug bites all over are arms and legs.. we even found them crawling on the pillow. We got our stuff and headed out right away we called a manager only she thing did was apologize and try to tell me those were not bed bugs when clearly they were with the pictures I have shown her and I know what bed bugs look like. No remorse or wanted to compensate us. Only thing she offered was to go see a pharmacy to get medicine and we still had to pay out of pocket for it.. therefore they didn’t even offer anything else but a different room and we couldn’t even sleep on the beds due to us being scared they went in our luggage. We slept in with one eye open and lights on. Also manager was mostly worried about “please don’t post review about this” like absolutely not. Please would not recommend this hotel .

However, it is very likely that with the annoyance of the whole situation you did not feel that we had no empathy towards you.On the other hand, rest assured that this was an isolated case and that we have high hygiene standards which are supported by the HS consulting certification. Beautiful. Yummy food and drinks. Close to so much! Loved being able to walk and explore. Smaller resort which is nice, you never felt crowded or had to wait for a table. If I had it to do over i would have waited to book excursions through them, they made it so easy. The beach bar was fun and just far enough away you felt like you were in a different space. I don't love seafood, so I didnt try the sushi bar, but I heard good things. I wish the main pool had a swim up bar. Nowhere to get a drink before 11:00am. Really my only real complaint was It was so loud, felt like maybe the walls were too thin. You could hear everything happening outside your room.

An honest review- for the price….worth it! Most staff were very friendly, some were meh. Restaurants were pretty good. The buffet was ok. Great salad bar, juice bar and selections. It was just too similar day in and day out. Love the coffee bar!! Great pool, but no swim up bar. Weird. The rooftop pool has a swim up, but it’s small. But they do have a great sushi bar up there. They say that staff watch for offenders who leave towels on the chairs, but we never saw staff take any away. Just like every other resort - there are those people who run down and place their towels on the chairs and then show up hours later. Seriously? Rooms were fine. Nothing “wow” but did the job for the 9 days we were there. Really close to 5th avenue and yes, they get in your face the whole time you walk down the street. Not the best beach either - small and rocky with lots of smelly seaweed. I would still recommend and we would return- we had alot of fun!!!

More consistency in the rooms being the same. Some rooms had better lighting than others. And the plugs near the bed did not work properly, but the other plugs did work.

Could only be better if they enforced their rules of not saving chairs. Buffet food was over cooked breakfast was great, Sushi, Mexican and steak house was all amazing.

This was my first solo trip here and it was a great time. I felt safe, comfortable everyone and the staff were so nice. The food, drinks and entertainment were so good! The spa was amazing! I did not want to leave but I will be back!

The specialty resturants were a let down. The food was a let down. The design of the pool made it difficult to get into and out of. The max depth was less than 5 feet. The ladders were too short.

The images of the hotel room I booked (junior suite, 1 king bed, Ocean view) was different from the room we were first given. I had to pay more money to upgrade the room to Oceanfront. Once you get on the elevator, please note that the 1st floor button takes you to the second floor. The 2nd floor button goes to the 3rd floor. The room was a winner. It has really thick pillows. Maybe adding two smaller ones could give balance. Also, there are no washcloths. Breakfast was the only meal I enjoyed at Ventanas. The fresh to order omelets and juices were great! You cant get mimosas until 10AM. I had the beef steak at Brasas but couldn't eat it. The texture was unique. We left and bought food outside the resort. We had dinner at Zarape. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. It still took about 45 minutes to get the meals. We added shrimp to the fajitas which was about $20. The food was okay. The ladies bathroom has short stalls. Your legs will probably hit the door Room service food was terrible. The pizza bar has potential. Please add more toppings. Garlic, basil, and oregano will go a long way. The bars on the property open at 11AM. The drinks are okay. You can only get ice cream at noon. Why? The hot tub closes at 5PM. Why? The pool and activities coordinators were great! The live dancers were great! More rainy day activities would be helpful in the lobby/bar area.

Staff and property for the most part were very good. The pool was very crowded and all chairs were covered and mostly unoccupied for much of the day. We were told at check in that if a chair was unoccupied for more than 30 minutes or so, the towels and possessions would be cleared. Didn't happen. Service was ver slow at the pool; we ended up getting our own drinks most of the time. You need to revise your towel policy with the cards. The towel kiosk was unattended for much of the day and was very inconvenient to wait to change towels for cards. Also, relax about the glassware. After waiting 20 minutes to get a glass of wine, I stood with the glass to return from the restaurant to my room and 2 waiters and a manager charged me immediately to retrieve the glass from my hand. I didn't fly 1000 miles and pay thousands of dollars to take a towel or a wine glass off the property. Not great hospitality. And yes, there is a difference in taste from glass to plastic. i get the plastic at the pool, but in the room, let the glass go with your guest. Big point of dissatisfaction and not very hospitable.

The property is has many rooms but a very small pool area. It is geared more towards a younger crowd. The staff are so incredibly friendly. There really is no beach to speak of. I will not go back.
