  • #Trovember Round barn at Hancock Shaker Village. I've been wanting to explore here since visiting the Shaker Village in Canterbury, NH also the one in Sabbathday Lakes, Maine. The history, culture and Shaker way of life is so interesting and appealing in its simplicity. We visited in April and were excited to meet and0wt the newly born farm animals. We took a tour to hear about daily life in a Shaker Village and then enjoyed a walking trail through woods and meadow and finished off with some delicious ice cream. "Tis a Gift to be Simple, 'Tis a Gift to be Free..." and it's a gift to explore this well-preserved living history museum!

We enjoyed one night and will actually be returning in two weeks. Room was acceptable. Clean with a comfortable bed. As expected, the unit was somewhat dated but was just fine for our visit.
