Horrible. This is my story. So I work outside with my job and I really like the idea that this hotel had a hot tub and it was a good price so I paid for the hotel and I when I got there that night I was really exhausted and there was no hot water but I just figured I would take a shower in the morning because it was probably due to other tenants using all the hot water up. in the morning I went to use the hot water and there was nothing there so I rushed to work anyway and I came back after work and told the manager that I needed to get a new room because this has been going on from the night before. You told me he would fix it in just to wait, but I waited all night and eventually fell asleep. I woke up the next morning and went right to him this time telling him I wanted a refund for part of my state because there was no hot water, and he immediately gaslighted me to tell me that I didn’t ask him for a room with hot water or tell him it was a problem. This is the same guy who came into the room and tested the water and confirmed he would get me a new room! So, of course, I got upset. I raise my voice a little, but I didn’t ball my fist or threaten him or jump over the counter, and he immediately got so offended that I raise my voice for calling him out for lying, and I told him he’s a liar, right to his face because he was., that he said he would immediately trespassed me and I had to leave the property. He apologized after I complained even louder, then blacklisted me.

This is not a hotel for travelers. It is a residential hotel with permanent residents in most rooms. The condition of the rooms was dismal. Moldy shower, holes in walls, broken bathroom door. The guy at the front desk was very obviously stoned and spent the evening smoking cigarettes in front of the rooms.

Dirty! Roaches! Paint peeling, mouse poop, mold, super thin walls, black smudges all over the walls and doors, it smelled like an ashtray and mildew, bad customer service (the front desk lady was kind, just seemed inexperienced and her boss was the one running the show he was off putting to say the least). I would not recommend to anyone, it’s conveniently close to everything towards the pier thats the only upside.

When we checked in, lady at desk had nothing clue what she was doing until the man came out. He gave us the wrong room. Room smelled moldy & not the hot tub room we paid for. So we got our money back & went down the street to the Edgewater inn. Much nicer.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! This establishment has a rodent problem! A mouse dragged an oyster cracker bag behind the bed. Went to notify the staff of the situation and they didn’t understand what I was telling them. Showed them a video of the vermin ducking in and from under the bed! Packed our stuff and got the hell outta there. My kids were freaked out and to top it off this place is refusing to refund my money. Did not spend the night there and their excuse “I looked any didn’t see anything” sent them and Expedia the video proof. Worst experience in such a wonderful beach town.

The bed was infested with bedbugs. The shower curtain was really dirty. Was not able to stay in the room since I was not going to lay on a bed infested with bed bugs. I had to sleep in my car. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The manager was in his underwear and a t-shirt when he checked me in. There was another guest complaining that their heat didn’t work and they didn’t have a remote for their tv while I was waiting to check in. I checked out about 45 minutes late and they threatened to call the police if I didn’t give them cash. I understand a late checkout fee, but the way they handled it was very unprofessional.

Gross! Don’t book the Sea Garden Motel
This place was absolutely atrocious! Th building was neglected and it was the most unsanitary place I’ve ever stayed in. Upon check in at the Sea Garden Motel, we noticed that the room smelled gross and the fans and heater for guest use were covered in dust and therefore, unusable. The fridge was dirty and somebody spilled something pink in the bottom of the freezer. Paint was peeling off the walls and the shower pan was ringed in mold/mildew.The “clean” towels were damp and stained. Luckily we had some beach towels with us!The floor was sticky/tacky and left my kiddos feet black. Used towels and empty liquor bottles in the closet were the last straw.I contacted Hotels.com the following morning and requested a refund for the remaining nights.The manager agreed to refund if we checked out by 11am.We were out of there by 10 and retuned the key to the drop slot as nobody answered the door.The next day, we were informed that they were denying the refund because we did not return the plastic key card.The hotel lied to hotels.com about us returning the key!After calling and visiting the hotel the same day and speaking with the manager, he finally said that his “boss” approved the refund but they have yet to pass that info along to Hotels.com and we are out $500 plus! Save your $250 per night (yeah crazy!!) and stay somewhere nice!! Oh and the SLO county health department is aware👍

The room we had was filthy and dingy. The beds had sand on the comforter, all pillow cases had someone else’s hair all over, the sheets had stains (blood and other), the towels had stains. I requested new sheets from the front desk and they were helpful in giving us new sheets/cases the ones we got were not any better. The room itself was just overall dingy which was to be expected but they should at least have the decency to keep rooms/beds clean. I would not recommend staying here unless everywhere else is sold out and you absolutely just need a place to sleep in a pinch.

This hotel was aweful, super sketchy and dirty! Hairs on the sheets looked like the sheets werent washed between uses. Whole room was dirty. When we went in the Windows were open and no screen in window so anyone could get into. No air conditioners, all were not working they said. We had to wake staff up at 10pm to check in and he was in his boxers. Their computers were down so he kept our id until next morning. Definitely not worth the $200 it cost for a night.

Great location.. This place needs a lot of work. I stayed here for one day and wanted to leave but its so close to the beach.. I booked one day and then extended through the office for two days.. This should be illegal. I was charged an early check in fee both days that I extended and i never checked out and it was the same room. Very dirty..After 3 days staff started to be polite. Great location..Just be ready

Would give zero stars if I could. This place is a complete dump. Advertises air conditioning, sign behind counter says no ice or air conditioning. Our room had a wet towel on the bed, an orange pair of underwear wedged under the door as a doorstop and half eaten burritos in the refrigerator, entire room smelled AWFUL. Arrived with two small dogs and was told (not asked) that I had to come back with cash to pay the pet deposit. When I promptly returned the key after witnessing the disgusting conditions we all got to see him leave his office to inspect our room...in his underwear. Complete dishonest, rude slob. Oh yeah, refused refund as well. We're currently disputing the credit card charge. I wouldn't let shelter dogs stay in this disgusting dump.

Not very clean. Old ripped towels. Curtains wouldn’t close. Old dirty broken fans. No Television channels. There were power strips everywhere, I had to really watch that the kids didn’t touch them. The beds were hard, you can feel and hear the springs. I paid over $200 for one night & I wasn’t happy with it. We were the ONLY tenants that night. We could’ve stayed at motel 6 for the same price

The room was absolutely filthy! The microwave was probably not cleaned in who knows how long, there was still coffee in the coffee maker so we could not use either, the towels and wash cloths were dirty and damp and just folded and hung back up! There was wierd writing on the mirror with a post it note stuck to it and it looked like the ceiling could ld cave in at any moment.
