Some excursions were a little drive but would have been for the local resorts also. I wish we had taken an opportunity to eat at the host house, sounded like everything was delicious there, but we didn’t have the time. What makes this property special is the hos, the property and a great location. Though the property is not particularly large it is packed full of interesting plants and wildlife (birds, a young sloth, reptiles, etc.). The host was always willing to answer our questions and we had a great time taking a cooking class (a family affair) where we prepared, cooked and then ate a wide variety of local foods. The beds were comfy and the house had everything we needed. It is located close to town and all the major tourist locations. The property is beautiful. We saw red eyed tree frogs out the kitchen window and a scarlet macaw in the trees next to the house. Lidiana and Eddy are wonderful hosts. We went to their kitchen for breakfast during our stay- delicious! We wished we could have taken their cooking class, but we were booked up. If you have time in your schedule, you should do so. Feb 19, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Great little house for a family WE loved having three bedrooms and enjoyed such great hospitality. Lidiana was one of our trip's highlights! She prepared a home cooked meal (for a fee) that was amazing and it was fun to see the birds, sloths, and tree frogs on the property! We had a car, and for us the location was perfect although one could take a bus. If older kids or adults are staying in the front bedroom, I suggest bringing something to expand the outlets. We cooked our own breakfast/ lunches in the kitchen. Lidiana can help you find the best grocery store and there are several fast and full service laundries in town. All in all a great experience! ##### Pam L. Wake up early to see the resident sloth moving around and eating and come back around 5 pm or so to watch the red-eyed tree frogs hopping around on the leaves right by your place. Take advantage of the $5 breakfast. Eddie is a fantastic cook and Lidiana goes to great lengths to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. We didn't do the cooking class (but wished we had). This place is very convenient to the downtown area where you'll find restaurants, a drop-off laundry service (U.S. prices for this service!), and more. Nov 19, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Your own piece of the rainforest This house is a true Costa Rican house you don’t even have to leave the house to see Birds Butterflies Lizards Frogs and a very pregnant sloth. They have a outside kitchen where Lidiana Eddie and the young adult kids will fix you s real Costa Rican breakfast and it was delicious or you can take a cooking class where you go to Lidinia’s garden and pick the herbs vegetables and greens for your meal. Then you go back to kitchen and they help you prepare a fabulous meal. In the garden you have the most beautiful postcard picture of Arenal volcano and then you add the sunset and that made it perfect. Lidinia Eddie and the boys were absolutely wonderful. It was amazing! Lidiana was the best host ever. It is such an authentic experience. The home was clean and perfect for our home base exploring the Arenal area. Lidiana and her husband Eddie were so kind and fun to be around. We had them make us breakfast one morning (delicious) and also took their cooking class (fun and delicious). The property is so beautiful and we were so blessed to see Flash (their resident sloth) and her twin babies up close when she came down one day. We found so many frogs each night right behind the house too. This is the place you want to book if you want the true Costa Rican experience. We were able to see frogs, toucan and Lidiana was so nice to show us the sloth that is living there! We were happy to learn more about the sloths from her and we enjoy watching Eddie's videos of them. Lidiana and Eddie are so welcoming, super friendly hosts. We just wished we had more time there to enjoy the breakfast or dinner they have in their offer as well. They have a great set up for cooking classes as well, but again our stay was too short. We appreciated that their place was very clean and Lidiana was ready to provide anything we needed. We went to see Mystico Arenal Hanging Bridges and loved it. It is worth to go there first thing in the morning. Fewer people and more active animals. Thank you so much Lidiana and Eddie!! We would love to be back:) ##### Monika S.
