Built in 1958, this mid-century modern home was designed by the infamous Hugh Kaptur and has been thoughtfully updated to blend its mid-century origins with today’s desert lifestyle. Located on the North side's Gene Autry Neighborhood, this home is a peaceful retreat away from the world’s cares yet offers easy access to shopping, dining and all that Palm Springs has to offer. Pull up, tuck your car into the two-car garage and let your vacation begin. An open concept living arrangement, the home opens into a short entryway with the well-stocked chef's kitchen and dining areas to the right, to the left is the hall to all three bedrooms, and ahead is the main living space. This entire living area is open, flowing seamlessly between areas and even offers bar seating for daytime snacks and an additional dining table for games or puzzles. This open room features large sliding glass doors looking out the sparkling pool and fully enclosed maturely landscaped private backyard. The space has clean lines with just the right amount of color pops, with classic modern mid-century furnishings for an Insta-worthy vibe and experience you will never forget. The living room has a large Smart TV with cable access and streaming capabilities. Outside, a generous yard holds an open-air pergola for semi-covered lounging or gathering for sunset cocktails. A larger sparkling pool and hot tub/spa is the centerpiece with the pergola, fire pit and seating/dining areas around. The primary bedroom offers a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with step-in shower, dual vanities, Smart TV with cable and access to the pool and spa. The two guest bedrooms are located across from the shared guest bathroom (with tub/shower combo). Both bathrooms are stocked with fine towels, hairdryers and amenities to get your stay off to a delicious smelling start. Both guest bedrooms offer queen beds and Smart TV’s. The Desert Dolphin Oasis will transport you into a world of sweet delight that you will want to return to time and time again. Gene Autry is an up-and-coming neighborhood of Palm Springs. The neighborhood is rich with architecture and history. It should be noted the city has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The Desert Dolphin Oasis is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as we are. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed. Pool heat and optional fees: If you would like the pool heated to 86 degrees during the colder months the fees are $75 per day, $500 per week. If you opt in for pool heat, a VRBO invoice will be sent a few days before check-in. Payment must be made via the VRBO app 24 hours before check-in as the pool takes several hours to heat. Pets: Up to 2 pets considered (Dogs Only) There is a pet fee of $90 (first pet), $45 (second pet). The price for the first pet will be included in your booking price when selecting to include your pet. If a second pet is planned please message us and we will send an invoice via VRBO for the second pet fee. Pets are not allowed on any furnishings. It was immaculate and beautifully decorated with mid-century furnishings and wonderful art. We especially loved the whimsical, color paintings in the kitchen dining area. We also loved having the bowl of fruit and the snacks that were left for us! After a long travel day, that was a great treat!Although we knew we wouldn't be cooking meals, the kitchen had everything we would have needed - pots & pans, dishes & glassware, appliances, etc. We did make use of the electric kettle and the toaster.We also made use of the spa and pool. Both were sparkling clean and truly delightful! We would absolutely recommend a stay at this wonderful private oasis. ##### Hollie A. Colleen answered every question promptly and was the perfect host. The photos do not do this beautiful house justice- it is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy all the amenities the home has to offer. We loved the new addition of the Hydroflask tumblers for around the pool. Everything in this house is of the highest quality and Colleen really thinks of everything to have available for her guests. The house was exceptionally comfortable and well appointed. The Hosts thought of everything and were very generous in what was provided especially in the kitchen and pool. The property had an incredible retro flair that perfectly matched the unique charm of Palm Springs. Our hostess truly thought of everything—every detail was so well considered. We especially appreciated the attention to mid-century architectural style and design.The amenities were outstanding, and the thoughtful welcome gifts were such a special touch! We were delighted to see high-end brands throughout the property. Everything felt intentional and curated, making our stay not only comfortable but memorable. We've already talked about coming back. Crate & Barrel comforters for all bed rooms… now that’s 5-star service… the kitchen was top drawer with all of the items you could desire… over all you could not find more value booking this VRBO… ##### Richard R. We loved the spacious and lively interior and the incredibly well-appointed kitchen. We completely enjoyed the pool and spa and our dog loved exploring the backyard. The hosts communicated well. We had a plumbing issue and they had a plumber at the property in 30 minutes and the problem resolved. The beds were sooo comfortable. Pool was heated to 86 degrees. We brought our dogs and they had dog bowls, a dog bed and dog treats. Very impressed. Will definitely will go back. ##### Anastasia L. The kitchen is huge and has everything you can think of or would ever need. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed and again well stocked and the beds were very comfy. The yard is large and has lots of very comfortable furniture and several different areas to lounge, catch some sun or enjoy an outdoor meal or drinks. Pool and spa were great and were heated well. Location is close to airport but noise was not an issue. Check in was easy and the host and concierge Carl were very attentive and responsive. We would definitely stay here again! ##### Elliott K. The pool and hot tub were perfect and the railing going into both was very helpful for me and my sisters. The kitchen was great, the bedrooms were perfect and the beds very comfortable. There were plenty of 'areas' at the property to hang out in. There was a nice dining room table but there was also a separate table for games by the stereo system. There was a nice table under a trellis outside for games as well. The outdoor fireplace was a special treat in the evenings. I would definitely stay at this property again. ##### Roxanne R.
