The best area to stay in Palaiochori is the main village area, particularly around the central square and along the beachfront.

This area is the heart of Palaiochori, offering a convenient base for exploring. It's where you'll find the majority of the tavernas, cafes, and local shops. The beachfront promenade is easily accessible, providing direct entry to the main sandy stretch of beach. Most of the village's amenities are within easy walking distance.

For couples, staying near the central square provides a lovely mix of convenience and local character. You'll be steps away from traditional Greek tavernas for evening meals and can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach as the sun sets. The proximity to the small harbour also offers opportunities for boat trips to nearby coves.

Families will find the beachfront area particularly appealing. With direct access to the main beach, children can enjoy swimming and playing in the sand without a long walk.

The best time to visit Palaiochori for pleasant weather and outdoor activities is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October).

During these periods, the weather is comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region without the intense heat of mid-summer. It's great for couples looking to enjoy hiking, cycling, or simply relaxing by the sea in a tranquil setting. The sea temperature is also pleasant for swimming, and the beaches are less crowded than in peak season.

Families often find early June or September particularly appealing. The sea is warm enough for children to swim and play, and the daytime temperatures are not too high for excursions.
