"The Big Island Retreat is a lovely property located minutes on foot to one of the best snorkeling beaches on Big Island. We stayed in the Ocean view room which was over 2 floors. The view from the bedroom is lovely. The rooms are quite small with little storage. The bed was only a double and very high off the floor making getting into it really hard. The bathroom is not totally enclosed and has no basin as the kitchen sink is just outside. Although there was nobody staying in the rooms...

"This is an extraordinary place, beautifully nestled at the top of a narrow tree-lined road, designed to blend into the landscape. It's high, and the view of the sea is grand. Well appointed, with a salt-water pool and very nice communal areas. We stayed only one night, a stopover between Kona airport and the drive to Hilo. We left thinking we would like to stay again, perhaps stay two nights. Lovely hosts. "

"Check in was different, but once we figured it out, it was very easy as well as check-out. It snowed quite a bit (in May) and we were a little concerned about the steep driveway, wasn't a problem. "The Briarwood Inn has a cozy stay in store for you! I stayed in room 44 on the second floor. I enjoyed the spacious room with a love seat, club chair, and a wall fireplace which made this room warm and cozy. The sheets and pillows on the kingsize bed were comfortable and ensured my good night's sleep. The large bathroom vanity and shower are bright and make me feel right at home.
