Nice location, room decent but floors were dirty and sandy. Beach is filled with red stuff, not sure of that's a red type of kelp but its everywhere. Gym was a couple of blocks away, not on site. Bed was very comfortable.

Not worth the money
The room was nothing as pictured on there site, very much dated and look as it was all furnished by tag sale items from the furniture right down to the pots,pans, coffee maker, dishes ect.all miss match stuff that looks as its time is up.(very well used). As far as cleanliness, it was tidy could have used a air freshener but may not have help considering the trash can was located right out side our door and also the housekeepers laundry room was right next door so every day we had to be careful going out our door because they would pile the laundry up right out side our door. I will say if your paying say $100 a night then you can over look things, but at $250 a night you at least don't want to trip over laundry getting out of your room and maybe a drinking cup that doesn't look like it was used to make sandcastles...

The staff was great. It was right on the beach so very convenient. You could walk to the pier easily. The mattresses were horrible and desperately needed to be replaced. The headboard was not connected to the wall or bed so if you moved the bed accidentally the headboard would fall. The kitchen needed updating. If it was cheaper it wouldn’t be as big of a deal but it was like $900 for three nights with taxes. For that price they shouldn’t have such worn down mattresses.

Phenomenal location. Excellent staff. Clean. Only complaint is the outdated bathroom and a shower that ranged from freezing cold to boiling hot with no way to manage the temperature.

J'étais dans la chambre 7 qui se situe dans la partie MOTEL donc, nous étions face à la piscine et face à la mer! J'y retournerais n'importe quand car, tout étais accessible à pied et excellent restaurant Joseph's à 2 pas du motel wow! Par contre, las 1ière chambre proposée se trouvait dans la partie HOTEL avec vue sur le stationnement et beaucoup trop bruyant et de gens qui parlaient fort, nous avons donc demandé à être déplacé

Roof was clean. Had separate living space and bedroom. Mini fridge, microwave, toaster, stove top, and coffee maker. Not much noise from the street. Close to everything!

Loved the location. Beach right there! Kitchenette well equipped. Received a lot of harassment from a couple of motel neighbor families claiming I was parked in their spots but I confirmed three times with the office that there is no assigned parking. Hotel needs to paint over the numbered spaces to avoid future confusion. Maintenance staff was great and responded both times in less than 10 minutes; first time was to replace the filter in the a/c; second time was to replace a broken chair. Front desk staff and cleaners were also great.

The room did not smell clean at all, it had a dirty smell to it, i had to buy a air freshner, when you flushed the toilet it was very slow an would rise before going down, Lafayette owners should redo rooms over for what they charge, they are run down

Great Place
Clean and comfortable rooms. Very spacious, with a small stove and refrigerator. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors really well but this didnt bother us. Will definitely return with our family.

We stayed for 4 nights in a room on the West Grand Avenue side. We knew it was an older hotel and we’re not high maintenance people, but, for the over $200 per night price we expected better. We had a nice week, but most likely wouldn’t stay here again. Positives: great location to beach and easy walk to pier, bed was comfortable, pool on property was nice and not crowded like the sister properties. Negatives: train is very close and blew its very loud whistle every morning around 5:30 am, there was black mold in the grout of the shower tiles, the kitchenette wasn’t fully stocked - no coffee mugs, spatula, dish soap, etc., there was no daily maid service - at check in they said to call if we needed anything, but if someone is staying 4 nights it would be nice to have someone else take out your trash and get fresh towels, coffee, shampoo, etc. Luckily we brought our own coffee supplies and toiletries!

Great location! Quiet, air conditioned. Couldn’t pull the sofa bed out without some rearranging, and the furnishings were overall quite dated, but no complaints functionally.

Gross. There was dead flies smooshed into the walls that i had to clean off. Hair in the fridge. No house keeping our entire 4 day trip and they didnt leave any cleaning supplies to wipe down tables after ourselves.

This resort has two main properties - The Waves and Ocean House the difference being The Waves is more high end and Ocean House is very much at the low end. We had booked the Family Double Room for more than $300 CND a night and all I can say is Ocean House is very run down. The security door was off its hinges, railing veranda was rotten - oddly a person was painting over it for a day and the locks on the window were broken off so you could not secure them. Highly not worth the price

The room was large and clean. The parking and building were confusing. Hard to find since you have to check in at a different location. Was not able to find the gym since there seemed to be no staff on this sight. It was right next to the ocean so the short walk was perfect.

From check in it was a bad experience. Staff very nasty and gave me a hard time on a mistake they made. Given a different room than i booked . The broken smake detector and damages in the room along with the unmatched decor that looked like a college boy decorated from yard sales .

It was awesome the pool was so clean, the rooms had EVERYTHING we needed and then some. Literally right on the beach, easy parking and so close to the pier.

The only redeeming trait about this property was the close proximity to the ocean. The room was a mixture of 1970's interior decorating with a splash of cabin/Stephen King creepiness', a funky smell that permeated your clothing, the ceiling fan did not work, the tv did not work, the WIFI password did not work, the door to the bathroom was frayed and splintered on the bottom, and the parking is very tight (I would not suggest to bring an Extended Cab truck, you check in at the larger hotel down the road.
