Top Old Goa Hotel Reviews

Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon, Goa

10/10 Excellent

"10/10 experience, can’t wait to visit again!"

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful hotel with vast estate of well maintained gardens. Clean pristine beach right next to the hotel. Loved the room with the plunge pool. Staff were very helpful. Services were excellent. They even provided free taxi services from/to the airport! Brest was included and had lot of variety options. If you can afford then don't hesitate to stay in Taj resort!"

Ronil Goa - a JdV by Hyatt hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Just stayed at the hotel for 10 nights and loved it. The property is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are a little on the small side so I suggest spending a little more for a bigger room. Pool area is clean and tidy with nice beds and a swim up bar. There are not many beds but we never had problems getting one every day. Lovely pizzas, good cocktails and fantastic happy hours. Spa prices are not dissimilar to those in town so we opted to use the hotel and wasn't disappointed. Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice and all very fresh. Staff are all fantastic and attentive. We paid for a private family event and they went above and beyond to make it special. Thank you Ronil Hyatt we had a great time."

Grand Hyatt Goa

8/10 Good

"A beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean. A large wedding departed the day we checked in and another checked in while we were there. They book the majority of the hotel, so it does feel a bit like normal guests are surplus. Areas sectioned off, music pounding, wedding guests returning late at night, waking us. Our Air con broke, we told front desk, three hours later nobody had come, had to call again and someone was sent. Keys to our room stopped working so we were stuck in the hallway, again three calls and 40 mins for someone to bring new keys ( we were just out of the pool, so didn’t want to go to reception) My husband used the spa, which he said was perfect, but again, no one to help/assist on where to go once he checked in. Everything just felt a little like a battle, hiccups happen but it’s how they are resolved that leaves an impression."

Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Goa

10/10 Excellent

"Perfect place to relax in historic settings with great views. The staff is top notch and the included breakfast had lots of fresh made options besides the standard buffet fare. Take time to explore the grounds for great views and the next door Taj property. The spa was luxuriously relaxing with a sauna and steam room. Convenient shuttles and buggies are available but I enjoyed wandering on foot and getting my steps in. The fort and beach below are prominently visible from around the property (and my well appointed room) and also easily accessed to explore further. A must do for a classic heritage-style experience. The restaurants and bar were great. The concierge also helped arrange for a car to explore Old Goa. Relaxing getaway convenient from both Goa airports."

Fairfield by Marriott Goa Benaulim

8/10 Good

"Facilities were good, clean rooms. Short walk to the beach. Cleanliness of the tables in the restaurant was not great (placemats were stained from previous guests and never saw anyone clean the tables with disinfectant between sittings). Would recommend getting breakfast early as when we went late we noticed that some food items were running low and not always topped up."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Old Goa?

The best time to visit Old Goa is from November to February, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

During these months, the humidity is lower, and temperatures are comfortable, typically ranging from 20°C to 30°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the numerous churches and convents, such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, without the intense heat and heavy rainfall of the monsoon season. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a comfortable and tranquil sightseeing experience.

December is a particularly popular time for visitors, as it coincides with the Feast of St. Francis Xavier, a major religious festival that draws pilgrims from around the world. While it can be busier, the celebratory atmosphere adds a unique dimension to your visit.
