"This is a newer hotel or newly renovated and a nice upgrade from the other chain hotels in town. Nice comfortable lobby and seating area for eating breakfast or playing games. Outdoor seating also with a firepit but no shade and it was hot so we didn't use. The fitness room looked pretty good , pool and hot tub were small but fine for kids. I was given an ADA room and the door was very hard to open, tricky lock but I could get in after several tries. The room was very clean and nicely updated. Comfortable bed with nice different fill pillows. I was concerned about noise as there were girls talking loudly who I could hear in the hallway but once in my room I could not hear them. I could hear the water sounds of the shower or bath above me when I was in the bathroom. I had not checked but as surprised that I did not have a bathtub just a shower with a wand with full size shampoo/conditioner and body wash. My travel friend also didn't have one in a regular room so maybe they only have showers in the whole hotel. The window coverings were all automated with buttons on the wall and were a bit hard to figure out but I liked the forest shade. Location is out of town just a few minutes near the Lavender Farm."

"We were three couples and we loved our stay! Great location and super clean! There are two areas for outdoor seating. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and listening/watching the birds and squirrels in the beautiful big tree right in front of us. Down the hill is another sitting area with a fire pit where we enjoyed listening to the live music across the water from one of the two restaurants/bars. Sunsets were gorgeous, fun watching fireflies at night too. Note that the road going across to the restaurants/bars is right next to the house but we loved how convenient it was to walk over to eat. There were kayaks and a paddleboat but we ended up not using. The kitchen was well-stocked and the large island had lots of stools all around, plenty for all. Lots to do in the area and the Merrimac ferry was close and convenient. Some of the things we enjoyed during our stay was hiking to the top at Devil Lake State Park. Biking the Great Sauk old railroad trail (beautiful views of prairie land and hills on one end). Not to miss is the International Crane Foundation with viewing of 14 different cranes from around the world and beautiful prairie gardens throughout. Another not to miss is Dr. Evermor's Sculpture Park, with lots of scrap metal sculptures including worlds largest, totally Mad Max style! Also, the big top show at Circus World in Baraboo, checking out all the nearby towns and of course the beautiful Driftless Country area. Would definitely book again!!"
