Surf and paddle boarding schools run directly from Crantock beach, which is manned by lifeguards throughout the holiday season. Busy Newquay is only 2½ miles away with its beaches, shops, restaurants and pubs, a zoo, boating lake, sports centre and splash pool. Many other attractions including the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens are all within an easy drive. The house comfortably accommodated our family of six . The hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure our check in went as smoothly as possible. The house is spacious with everything you would need and more . The well kept large garden was beautiful with the added bonus of garden games and various seating areas . Our host even left some toys for our 3 year old grandson to play with . We were also welcomed with a generous welcome pack which was lovely. Good welcoming pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk, to revive us after our long journey. Pauline and Tom were exemplary hosts, with local knowledge freely shared, a home that welcomed us and had everything we needed in it. It had been Covid cleaned prior to our arrival an Pauline texted us when it was ready (ahead of our travel time, as it happens). It had great beds, was very comfortable and a beautiful garden with much interesting wildlife. It had everything you could possibly need, a shower in the bathroom upstairs and a bath in the en suite downstairs, a well equipped kitchen including a washing machine and tumble dryer! The owners were lovely and helpful and showed us around the cottage and garden and they even supplied complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, cookies, washing up liquid, hand soap and toilet rolls. The cottage was close to a lot of attractions and beaches.
