Perfect spot to sit in the river! Guadalupe River Retreat is the perfect place to relax, unwind and make memories. Brand new and right on the river you can't get better than this. Come see what God's Secret Paradise has to offer. It is the ideal destination to enjoy the river and the breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country. Go tubing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, or fishing right out the front door. The Horseshoe and the Whitewater Amphitheater are a few miles away from the house. This makes it super convenient for those Whitewater concerts and floating the river. You have river access right outside the house. Step inside this tiny home and you'll love the open kitchen/living room as it offers a beautiful view of the river. The owners put a lot of thought into comfort and versatility. There are two bedrooms. Downstairs is a queen bedroom and upstairs in the loft there are two full beds overlooking the river. There is one full bathroom and a beautiful front deck draped with outdoor lights facing the river. It sleeps 6 comfortably. It is also minutes away from Canyon Lake, downtown New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn, Comal River, Gruene and Wimberley. 5 miles to the most popular places on River Road- River Rose Tavern, Lone Star Float House, & WhiteWater Amphitheater. Right next door to Gypsy River Resort. There are also many wineries and distilleries to visit. Enjoy tubing in the summer, fishing in winter, & Wurstfest in November! We had a great time at the house and property, I wished we had booked just one more day! We stayed 2 nights, my husband and I, my sister and brother-in-law. The house was very nice and very clean, we had everything we needed. No complaints at all. The river is right there, just a short walk down. There is plenty of shade. We sat with our chairs in the water, then took the tubes out and floated a bit. We bbq'd one night and made a fire in the firepit on both nights and sat around listening to music, had drinks. We went to a tubing service company and floated for 2-3 hours, loved that. The beds were comfy. I let my sister take the bedroom and my husband and I took the loft, the loft has low ceilings but It's mainly to sleep or lay in bed. We liked it, slept very well. I would definitely recommend this rental, the house, property and river access was perfect! I seriously cannot think of one negative thing. Only issue we had was a strong sulphur smell to the water in the house which was not the best for kids to overlook the smell to shower but that was the only thing to even improve if possible. The positioning on the property also has another house on the river. A little awkward at first with the tenants of that house thinking we were trespassing but we cleared that up ;) there is plenty of bank space and seating for both house guests. Couldn’t wash dishes or hands because the smell was so bad. My kids refused to shower and literally threw up while showering from the smell. Property manager said that it’s normal and did nothing about it, however I asked the people staying in the main house if they also were experiencing this and they said no. The AC in the main house dripped the entire time and soaked the stairs and floor going up to the loft. The loft is so short you have to crawl around so don’t plan to put any adults up there. If you are over 3ft in height then you are to tall for the loft. My grandkids had to crawl on all fours to get around. I strongly believe the renters should be told about the inconvenience.
