![At the Two Suns Nerudova street (Nerudova ulice) is a picturesque street leading up to Prague Castle. In this steep street you can find many restaurants, souvenir shops, embassies, but what’s most remarkable about this street are the house signs and the people that lived in that houses. Why house signs? The house numbers were introduced in Prague in 1770. Before that the houses were recognized by their signs and Nerudova street has a vast collection of them.

Nerudova street got its name after a famous Czech poet and journalist Jan Neruda who wrote many short stories about this Prague district. By the way, Pablo Neruda’s name was delivered from the name of this writer. Jan Neruda used to lived in this street between 1849 and 1857. He lived in the house At the Two Suns (no. 47) at the upper part of the street. The house sign belongs among the most beautiful ones. Neruda’s name is also connected with the house At Three Black Eagles (no. 41) where Neruda lived after the death of his father. He made his first collection of poems there.

A word of warning with some of the restaurants in The centre of Prague, if there are no prices shown on menu cards for meals or drinks just walk past as you are likely to be  will be overcharged. That said there are some fantastic restaurants here that offer great meal and drink deals with prices displayed on boards outside. 
It's a lovely walk down into the Mala Strana ( Little Quarter ) district which is an area that is also teeming with pubs, bars, restaurants and some amazing architecture.

How to get there:
From metro station Malostranska (green line A) continue by tram (no. 12, 20, 22, 23) to the next Malostranska. Nerudova street is just up the hill.

Or just walk down from Prague Castle downhill towards Charles Bridge.

It immediately made us feel comfortable and well cared for. The room was elegant and very comfortable, with a genuine classic style that perfectly fits the historic character of the building. Everything felt calm, tasteful, and well maintained. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. The view is beautiful, the breakfast menu is well prepared, and the buffet is generous and carefully arranged. The service was outstanding. Olga and Andrea were both warm, attentive, and caring, turning breakfast into a truly pleasant daily experience. The hotel’s location is superb, quiet yet perfectly situated for exploring Prague. Check-out was simple, smooth, and efficient. We truly enjoyed staying in this well-preserved historic building. It allowed us to feel and breathe the gracefulness of Prague in a very special way. "The hotel is centrally located in the city of Prague. Our rooms and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We especially enjoyed conversing in the lounge with staff members, David and Mohammed, during our stay. We had the opportunity to utilize the dining room and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was nice and the coffee was exceptional. We noted that staff were hard working individuals and always had a smile on their faces. My only critique is that we wished the breakfast buffet area was larger to accommodate all the guests."

"Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience at the Neruda from check-in to check out all was really great. Checked in late as flight was delayed- Christina was so welcoming and friendly. Room 32 was just so beautiful with view onto street and all amenities you need for a short break. Breakfast daily was the most outstanding quality and clean environment I’ve ever encountered! Sadly we were not able to view the spa as they told us it was fully booked for our entire stay which was sad but understandable. I believe there’s a hot tub and sauna in there and it’s situated next door to the hotel. The hotel is located up a hill but it’s gentle and such a gorgeous authentic Czech area that you hardly notice the hill when walking. The location in my opinion was perfect for us. Just below Prague castle and far enough out of centre to be quiet in evening but also close enough to walk everywhere. Only negative was that 2 nights out of 3 I didn’t sleep due to the hotel elevator making noise in our room as was close by but I still loved the hotel."
