Great hotel and amenities.

Pros: We loved that all rooms were oceanfront and the beach was very easy to get to. The pools and lazy river were wonderful! We really enjoyed the DJ.
Cons: Easier way to get into the parking garage. It was so narrow.
Location: Nice location.
We first had reservations at another hotel but it turned out real bad so went to Crown Reef. The staff at the desk were so nice and realized our frustration so gave us a card for free breakfast. There was 2 couples in our party so needed 2 rooms and they had no problem putting us together. Had a wonderful time and did not want to leave.

Close to relatives

We stayed at the Crown Reef because it was close to relatives. The rooms were overlooking the beach and had a nice lazy river. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows and linens had a stale smoke smell from previous smokers in the room. The bathtub was ok, but had cigarette burns along the edges. The paint was old and had chips in many places. The staff was ok, but we had called down at one point for toilet paper and had to wait almost 3 hours. It was all just kind of less than mediocre. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend.

Pros: location
Room's floor would get slippery when patio door was left open and not safe for kids or even adults. Bathroom tap kept running.

TERRIBLE HOTEL

Pros: There really isn't anything good I can say. For the price we paid it was a nightmare.
I had called Hotel to make sure that renovations would be complete before our stay. They reassured me that everything was completed first week of April. I arrived with 3 children at 10 am and asked for an early check in and we wanted to be on a higher floor. They said rooms were not ready and we couldn't check in until 4pm. They also put us on the 5th floor out of 11 floors. The hotel was still under construction and they closed the pool the first day we arrived. Every morning at 9am we woke up to Jack Hammers drilling the pool. The elevators did not work and the ground level of the hotel was dirty and old. This hotel has 3 towers and they were still renovating tower 1 and that was the tower they put us in. When I called and asked to be moved they said they were completely booked which was BS because other guests were moved to Tower 3 that had a pool. We went to the restaurant in the hotel and the Bartender was so rude and unfriendly. She was very snappy with me. Against my better judgement we tried this Hotel because of the indoor water park which was also closed due to the renovations. Overall terrible customer service, dirty, old and over priced. Be ware of this Hotel.

Won't be back

To start - we arrived early and was told they'd call when room was ready. After getting the call, it took ar least 1/2 hr to get back to the hotel and then waited in line for another 30+ minutes to get our keys. When we got to the room, it was still being cleaned! The safe didn't work, neither did a phone or a lamp and the toilet ran. We didn't have any chairs on our balcony. We tried to call guest services several times with no answer. We tried to call maintenance and got a message saying they were busy & they'd call us back. They didn't. The room was clean enough but it's worn and outdated. The phone felt like it had not been wiped down in 20 years! Housekeeping didn't come one day. We called just to get towels and we got to hear whoever answered the phone yelling at the staff and then hung up. 3 1/2 hrs later we still didn't have towels. We had to keep fixing the chain so the toilet would flush. We finally got maintenance to come. They stayed for a couple of minutes and left saying we were all set. We continued to have problems- but we were leaving the next day so let it go. The layout of the hotel is awkward. There is a place for food which you can only get to by going through the arcade. Getting from your room to the beach/pool area is confusing. Getting to the bar by the pool involved crossing through the dance area and crossing a bridge. My husband said on the 2nd day if we were staying any longer than the 4 days we were there, he would have left

Dirty and Uncomfortable Stay!!!

Needs a major face lift to the outside and inside. Our room was nothing like the pictures online. The halls smelled like fish and mold was visible in all windows. Elevators were slow. Several hot tubs were out of order.

Great location to the beach

My experience was not worth what I spent. The room was clean but the floors were dirty. My room was actually cleaner the next day when housekeeping came by than when we arrived. One tv wasn't working and had to be replaced. The shower head worked poorly. The toilet ran all day/night. Pool area still under major construction even though they advertised it differently. Room should have been cheaper just because of all of the limited access. And the first morning I woke up to find a bug (a cockroach) crawling on the nightstand. It could have been left by the previous travelers but That did it for me. The amenities the hotel provides are great, but it will never be my first choice again. The staff is extra friendly. Maybe it was just my room that was bad. the other rooms could be just fine. I was thinking that because I booked what I thought was a discounted rate could be the reason why I received such a bad room. Whatever the reason, my visit could have been better. I rate this hotel 3 out of 5 and that's only because the staff was exceptionally friendly. Customer service does make a difference.

Do not stay here!!

Staff at check in slow and not attentive. Hotel is run down and nothing like described and shown. So disappointed! Sheets and bed had horrible odor. Television had horrible picture and hard to watch. Lazy river wasn't open nor was pool. Kitchen didn't have needed items to cook. Don't spend your money here! Stay elsewhere.
