An exceptional place, well maintained, renovated, very clean, spacious, night shift front desk was so nice & patient! Great location - 15 minutes to Ventura or Ojai. Very clean & spacious.

I understand how difficult it is to keep up these historic hotels, but the musty, mildew smell did bother me. Best breakfast!!!

The property looks a little dumpy, but it’s old. Grounds were well maintained. The room had some issues. The fire alarm was upgraded which was good but the old one was left in the ceiling complete with exposed wires. The room was mostly clean, but there was mold on the room door frame at the top. There was some damage to the wall next to the shower door leaving exposed tiles. The TV worked well with lots of options. The volume was good and loud and the shower had hot water. We did learn, late, that local teens liked to use this hotel for parties. We didn’t notice the built in bottle opener until later! We stayed on a Saturday night so maybe during the week, they don’t. The party went on well past midnight- fortunately, we were only staying the one night.

A little nook of ocean front paradise.

When we first arrived there was coffee pods in the room but no coffee pot so we had to ask for that and was told she had to hunt one down. Beds were extremely uncomfortable almost felt like air mattresses. The only plus of staying here was how close it was to the beach.
