The sound of the ocean waves at night was amazing. The room was clean though a bit dated. Parking was not good due to many patrons at the restaurant. Rooms were fine. We did enjoy sitting along the ocean for breakfast, and we were able to sit even closer one evening to listen to the waves. Friendly staff. Even step out onto the beach on a low tide afternoons or walk on sidewalk north side along hwy 101 to access beach too. Internet and tv were spotty and a bummer because of so many connection issues- hard to watch a show or be on the internet. Bed was squeaky and not great. The room could use some updating and re-thinking about the use of space. The bed was very soft and not supportive. The location was very nice, but the pool while clean was not heated and, therefore, unusable. On Saturday morning, the office was supposed to have been open at 7 am. But it did not open until after 8 and no staff member responded to repeated rings of the service bell after 7 am. Dinner at the Shoal restaurant we could not stop raving about. The staff was very pleasant, but unfortunately, the rest was ok at best. The bed was very hard and the shower was subpar with barely any water pressure for washing my long hair. The floor in the bathroom was slopped, felt like I was drunk walking on it. And breakfast was nothing special.
