"Great Price /Excellent Location"
The City View Hotel was great! It was very affordable, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. There were many things to do within walking distance, such as visiting the Egyptian Museum, shopping, eating and even taking a stroll by the Nile. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The staff went above and beyond to assist us. They made us feel welcome and safe which was important since our party consisted of four young women. My friends and I are very pleased and hope to stay there again when staying in Cairo.

"Nice quaint hotel in wonderful area"
This is a great little hotel. My room was comfortable, water clean, hot and reliable. Maid service everyday. The breakfast is sufficient to ensure a good start to the day. The hotel is well located in walking distance to the Cairo museum, Tahir Square, Nile river cruises, subway, Coptic Cairo and many other attractions and amenities. The staff are wonderful. Moshen can help with tours and advice to enjoy the visit to Egypt/Cairo.

"Heart of downtown "
The hotel is located in a very old building as is most of all the hostels downtown, but what makes this one different is the amazing terrace and the staff and owners. I had a wonderful time staying there and wasn't bothered at all. The Internet needs improvement but you will eventually feel like a family there with some of its long term residence.

"If cheap is what you want then don't expect luxry hostels!"
The hotel was in walking distances of all banks and currency exchanges, sadly not all of them would exchange my rands from South Africa! BOO! Anywho, it was a struggle being hispanic because everyone thought i was Arab and got upset when ever i spoke english (SO EXPECT LANGUAGE BARRIERS in the TALAT HARAB district and all around Cairo). There was an awesome sandwhich shop, hardly any internet cafe's around (if so, waiting perioud for 5 computers), the metro was helpful but plan ahead cuz i got lost a couple of times. Plan to get tickets to aswan, luxor or other a day ahead! TOO many shoe, purse and clothes stores all in one district! The Egyptian Museum was near by too as well as pretty Mosques and Churches. Enjoy!

"Decent budget option in Downtown Cairo"
We enjoyed our stay here for the most part. The location is very convenient with close proximity to some of the major sites. The Air Con was strong, the breakfast was substantial enough to get you started in the morning (coffee, jam and cheese with a few rolls, nothing fancy but decent) and the price is competitive on a per night basis with other hotels of similar caliber. Some staff were genuinely helpful providing prices we should expect to pay for a taxi to certain destinations, although this was not consistent. This intersection is incredibly noisy so light sleepers should bring ear plugs. The taxi ride to/from the airport you will be offered is way overpriced. More questionable was the booked trip we made through the hotel for our trip to Giza. While the driver was helpful for most of the trip, we were taken to "friends" of his in Giza for a camel ride. Everything went well until the final bill came along and they tried to pull the classic "no the price we gave you was per person, not for everyone". Our driver (essentially associated with the hotel) was not supportive of us at all and encouraged us to give money to the owner of the business who was attempting to extort us and even supported his version of the events. We threatened to go to the tourist police about 5 times and eventually escaped the whole incident with a vicious Arabic curse yelled at us in a very threatening manner. This was all rather confusing for our 4 and 6 year old children. Avoid this hotel's tours

"Cheap hotel near Tahrir Square"
The room DID NOT look anything like the photos on the website. And I was disappointed in the bedding: the pillows were brown and the comforter had blood stains on it. Having said that, the room was relatively clean (for Egyptian standards). And the staff was very friendly to me. I did, however, hear from several other guests that they were pressured by the staff to buy various tour packages. They didn't bother me because I wasn't there as a tourist.
