My sibling and I missed a train on the way from Takayama to Izu and our originally 6 hour travel plan became 12 hours. We arrived at JOYinn close to midnight, and Mr. Tack was so wonderful and accommodating! He was awake to greet us and help us with our luggage and even upgraded our room to an ocean view free of charge!! The inn was lovely and our room was perfect for us. It was comfortable and sizable and of course had a gorgeous view of the sea and mountains!! Mr. Tack offered free shuttle service in the mornings and on our last day, he even extended the time frame for us. I think the only issue we had was the lack of things to do in the surrounding area. The neighborhood is beautiful, charming, and very pleasant to explore, but there are very few close restaurants and shops especially since I have dietary restrictions. They also open and close at kind of odd times. Thankfully, Mr. Tack kindly drove us around, and the taxis in the area were also very very cheap. Just keep in mind that there aren’t any super close attractions or convenience stores! We had a great experience here and would definitely come again!!
