When is the best time to go to Moturoa?

The best time to visit Moturoa is during the summer months, from December to February, when the weather is warmest and most reliable for outdoor activities. During this period, you can expect pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, with longer daylight hours. This makes it ideal for enjoying the coastal walks, beaches, and water sports that Moturoa and the wider Taranaki region are known for. It's also the peak season for many local events and festivals. Couples looking for a relaxing beach holiday will find this period particularly appealing. The warm weather is superb for spending time on Ngamotu Beach or exploring the coastal walkway. Many of the local cafes and restaurants also have outdoor seating, allowing you to enjoy the sunshine. Families travelling with children will also appreciate the summer months. The calm waters of the harbour are suitable for swimming, and there are often family-friendly activities organised in the area.

"Really nice stay. Staff were exceptional, especially the lady on front desk during the day. Housekeeping staff were also smiley and welcoming. She was super accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable but it is very dated, circa 2000 since the hotel has seen some refurbishment love. But a great stay none the less. Hotels in a good location for sightseeing and plenty of food options around the hotel. Would stay again and would recommend to anyone visiting NP."

The Devon Hotel A Heritage Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I was greated by a confident and assuring man, dressed well very helpful, my room was excellent, the breakfast was good and done well. The decor and pool are also very good, nice art work. Value, very very goodshort walk to main street. Again our shared motorcycle interest started my stay very well. Best hotel in New Plymouth, definitely stay here again"
