The best time to visit Motopi is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.During these months, the weather is generally clear and pleasant, with sunny days and cooler evenings. The lack of rain means water sources are scarcer, which naturally draws wildlife to permanent waterholes and rivers, making game viewing more concentrated and predictable. This is particularly beneficial for those hoping to see a wide variety of animals in the Central District. For travellers looking for comfortable game drives and outdoor activities, May to August offers a milder climate, avoiding the more intense heat that can begin in September and October. The vegetation is also less dense, improving visibility for spotting animals. This period is ideal for couples and luxury travellers who appreciate comfortable conditions while on safari. If you're seeking the absolute peak of wildlife viewing, particularly for predators congregating around water sources, then late dry season (September and October) is exceptional. However, temperatures can be quite high, so it's important to be prepared for warmer conditions.
