Property is old and it shows. The office hours only stay open until 8pm. Our key card got demagnetized and we couldn’t get into our room at 11pm. No one was on the property to help us. I called their emergency after hours number. No answer. It wasn’t until another regular guest called on my behalf that they answered and said they were not home and would come to make a new key card. (The owners live in the property) The lady was very kind when she came home and made us a new key card, but we were locked out of our hotel room and the end of a ver long and exhausting day. We were scared we were going to have to sleep in our car. The owner was apologetic but compensation was not offered. This was unacceptable. There are plenty of better locations to stay that are much more professional.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was quite spacious, but needs ALOT of TLC/maintenance. The front of the bath tub was caving in. The kids wanted to use the jets which were very dirty and full of someone’s hair. The bathroom door was separating from water damage. The carpet and wallpaper were splitting. Food was under a chair. The sheets and couches were full of stains. Coffee and food splatter high up on the walls. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Price was great for a quick weekend getaway and bed was comfortable. Location was good, very quiet. Gave more of a cabin-feel than hotel/inn. However our room appeared outdated and needed maintenance checks (carpet and bathtub were peeling, shower pressure was low, one window was broken). Front desk staff were nice.

I got in late but found my room keys at office front door. The office wasn’t open when I left the next day so I just left keys there and didn’t have any interaction with staff. I liked the fireplace. The place had a few updates- like the tub. But the 3 inches of frayed and worn carpets, peeling wallpaper and curtains that took some effort to close didnt make me feel like I was in a room over $200.

The caulk around the bathtub was cracked and moldy, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls and the heater was loud and in need of repair. It was VERY cold in the room. Staff at check in was friendly and the area was beautiful the room just left something to be desired.

We just needed a quick over night stay but wanted it to be quaint and comfortable! This place was great! The staff was welcoming, parking convenient and the amenities from the fireplace to jet tub were perfect! Great get away conveniently located!

The property is need of a lot of TLC. The furniture is old, dirty and uncomfortable. The mattresses are in need of replacement and the carpet as well. Our room had areas of the carpet that were shredded and ripped. There was wall paper pilling everywhere, power outlets that did not work and the heaters were connected to one working outlet with an extension cord. That did not seem safe so we did not use the heaters and instead relied on the fireplace that did not warm the entire room. The yard area that was supposed to serve as the patio area has not had the grass cut, leaves cleaned or trees pruned in some time. The property is walking distance to Asilomar State Beach which is about the only positive of this property. Hopefully ownership can start making some renovations because the location is a gem.

A nice quiet place in natural surroundings. Bed was a little tired. We thought it had a kitchenette according to the Expedia description and planned to cook. But it was only a mini fridge and a microwave. Expedia only offered a $9 credit for the issue.

The property is safe and staff are friendly. They would benefit from a bit of a remodel. Some of the fireplaces did not work. But outside of that it was clean and nice.

Outside probably look nice but the cottage have broken tub handles fireplace did not work bed sheets were dirty and there was no power in the complex due to rain, housekeeper was very rude when we asked her for clean sheets!! Paid for 2 days and spent only one day there lost out my money

It was a great stay overall, we come to this hotel quite often because of how quiet and peaceful it is. However, a big reason we come is for the king suite which has a jacuzzi tub, and unfortunately for the first night that we originally were only going to stay one night the hot water was not working and that was an extreme disappointment. The next day we called the front desk to tell them about the water and we're hoping to get some type of discount or even free stay for the next night, they were prompt on turning on the hot water however I was not satisfied with the compensated rate, which was I believe maybe around $10 off. I'm grateful for the discount and in general, however I believe it should have been maybe a little more of a discount or free because a few other things didn't work but they're not important. Also just a little bit of advice I love having our own little back patio in that room however it would feel much more private and relaxing if maybe there was a fence or more of a wall blocking the back patio from the main parking lot. Lastly, not a huge deal, just thought I'd let you guys know It was a little bit dirty just in the nooks and crannies which is not a huge deal to me but you know might be for other people and so maybe the cleanliness could be stepped up a notch. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay very quiet and private and we enjoy staying there.

Cool place tucked away from the traffic and noise. Older property but well maintained and with extra amenities like fireplace in the room. If you're looking for a nice spot in the woods but a couple of blocks from the ocean front road then this is it.

Lovely area!
The room was good, fireplace kept the bed area toasty all night long, I appreciate the fridge, bar sink & microwave (although there was no paper towels, dish soap, or sponge for that area), the spa tub needs an overhaul. It was too icky to want to actually sit in & turn on the jets. And the bathroom is SO COLD! Otherwise, it was a lovely stay!

Quiet but unmaintained
The location of this inn is fantastic. Walking distance to Asilomar state beach. Beautiful area! Quiet location. The hotel room was in disrepair. The first night there was no hot water (luke warm). The futon bed in the living area fell apart when you sat on it, I wouldn’t dare let someone sleep on it- the springs were felt through the seat. Wall paper is peeling, the shower curtain is extremely tattered. The electrical outlets were broken (behind nightstand) or didn’t work properly- tv- had to mess with it to get the satellite to work. The trash can outside of our room was overflowing when we arrived Saturday afternoon and wasn’t emptied once before we left Monday.

The reviews on this property were very misleading, fortunately we were able to get a full refund and go somewhere else. The location is great but the rooms are in desperate need of updating and maintenance. The carpet was ripped, fan wouldn't go off, tub worn and the room didn't smell good. There was incense lit in the office and the smell was overpowering. We were offered another room and thankfully we looked at it first before booking, it was no better than the first room we were assigned to when we arrived.
