![Medina - Chefchaouen, Morocco
It is known for the blue washed walls and doorways in the old city. Narrow alleys, cobbled walkways, stairs up and down, leading in all directions. 

Chefchaouen's powder blue buildings mirror the cloudless Moroccan sky - but religious rather than stylistic reasons are behind the design choice. Jewish teachings suggest that by dyeing thread with tekhelel (an ancient natural dye) and weaving it into prayer shawls, people would be reminded of God's power. The tradition lives on in the regularly repainted blue buildings.

The walls are adorned with carpets, purses, blankets, paintings  and much more. It was quite an adventure to get lost in the tiny lanes and alleys and discover the many berber shops and products.

« Très bien situé pour visiter Tetouan. Parking gardé payant à proximité. Contactez l'hébergement pour infos sup. Riad avec beaucoup de charme. Chambre Sahara confortable et conforme au descriptif et photos. Excellent restaurant sur place à des tarifs très raisonnables et qui sert de l'alcool. Possibilité de manger à l'intérieur ou sur la belle terrasse. Petit déjeuner complet et excellent. Personnel professionnel, serviable (est venu me chercher à proximité pour garer ma voiture au bon parking)...

« Pour ceux qui cherchent un endroit authentique avec une vue imprenable sur Chefchaouen. L'accès est facile et le stationnement disponible directement devant le Riad. Le menu offert sur place a été parfait pour nous tout comme le service. Vous pourrez vous rendre dans la Médina en taxi pour environ 20 dirhams et en quelques minutes. Nous avons eu un coup de coeur pour la terrasse sur le toit qui offre une vue a couper le souffle sur les montagnes et la ville. »

« Cet hôtel n’a pas de parking ni de voiturier comme dit sur le descriptif. Nous n’avons pas dormi dans cet hôtel car impossible de garer la voiture. De plus la ville est bondée en cette saison. Nous demandons le remboursement Nous avons vu avec le gérant, il avait pourtant dit qu’il annulerait la réservation. »
