"Staff were VERY helpful. The price of the room was very fair. Room clean; nothing special. Kinda boring decor. Great Shower (was handicapped room-#149). Wallpaper needs updated :( Also BIG chair in room needs a through cleaning or replaced. Disappointed there was not any continental breakfast; although there were purchased snacks to be had in the lobby area. Had to WALK (or go outside, get in car and drive) 3 blocks inside to go to the snack bar to get any food. NOT conducive for older people to have to walk. Scooters were provided for a fee. DO NOT like the front entrance drive thru island. It is in the way of someone having to walk to their car in the parking lot with luggage in hand. Have to go ALL the way around the island or through the dirt and grass (not safe) to get through a short cut. Poor layout. Thank the staff at front desk for their welcomed good attitudes:)"

"An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Comfortable beds, great living room space to relax, and although we didn't really use the kitchen, it was one of the best stocked ones in all of our stays in VRBOs. Definitely will stay here again when in the area!"

"There is not one negative thing to say about The Cottage. It was perfect. We stayed four nights. Location is great, right on the lake, the home itself is warm and welcoming, fully furnished and equipped, parking right in front, two screened in areas, ceiling fans in all rooms, more beautiful than shown in pictures. Hated to leave and will definitely be back."

"Highly recommend a stay at the old stone farm! The owner was super responsive and helpful leading up to and during our trip. The place is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed lazy mornings on the farm and ending out day around the fire pit at night. It was clean and cozy and the perfect background for curling up with a book and taking fun pictures outside. Our daughter loved getting to know all the animals and spent hours at the fence watching them do their thing and feeding them. The house is well appointed with everything you need to make fun dinners for the family or host as small gathering like we did. The house itself is a destination but it’s also an easy trip to Wintwrset or even Des Moines. Highly recommend you check it out. I’m sure it is beautiful in the spring and fall.
