"I was pleased with the property and hosts. The property is quiet and comfortable. The porch overlooking the river is fantastic. The problem came during and after check out. Our host said I was only registered for 1 adult 2 kids. I had reservations for 5 adults (2weee teens). Later she emailed me saying that because I was only registered for 2 she was charging my card an extra fee. Sure enough when I checked my card was charged again. I didn’t mind paying for the extra. "Magical spot. I stayed two nights in early November while hiking the Cutler Coast lands. Serene and remote location, beautiful view onto the lake, and cozy and spotless lodgings. On top of that, Mary was gracious, kind, responsible and available.After a long, tough, hike, coming home to warm my toes by the gas fireplace was the BEST."

"Amazing place from a great host! Anne was super communicative in the leadup to our stay and answered all our questions, including giving suggestions for hiking trails in the area and instructions for operating the wood stove. The cabin was absolutely perfect, the beds were comfy, the wood stove was so cozy for evenings inside and the chairs on the dock were great for quiet mornings outside, and the birds at the feeders didn't even mind when we sat on the porch with them. Lots of things are provided by the hosts, including all the firewood you could possibly need and plenty of food for the birds. We also had a great time paddling around the lake in the canoe; the foliage is gorgeous and there are some cool rock formations and submerged trees and sunken docks to see around the edges of the lake. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"

Stunning Views! Quiet Oceanfront Home in Jonesport

"I visited the place with my parents for a cozy fall trip. All I wanted when I booked this trip is some peace and tranquility away from the city crowds. I got just that but also so much more. Waking up to the prettiest sunrise, not a single urban noise, and so many birds singing beautifully. I got to read two whole books in 5 days- sitting out in the sun by the water; there are enough sitting spots for you to not get bored- the couch, the chairs on the deck, the chairs facing the water and for an even secluded experience, the rocks down the stairs! And the best part was that I was here during world space week and was treated to just that- beautifully clear dark skies for my stargazing- got great pictures of the stars, planets and the Milky Way and witnessed one of the prettiest moonrises of my life. Absolutely worth spending any amount of time if all this sounds like you vibe!Definitely catch a sunset at the Roque bluff state park and take a walk at Jasper beach, which is also an awesome stargazing spot!"

"Just the cutest little cottage that has all the necessities. Plus the backyard, the daily deer visits, the proximity to the ocean and dog-friendly pond. We had scheduled a 5 day stay and loved the location so much extended it 10 more days! Maggie, the host, was responsive and easy to communicate with. My husband loved Roque Bluffs so much we want to come back again next spring! By the way, our bloodhound had the time of his life- and is quite sad he had to come back home."

Gardner Lake Home: Amazing views private and quiet 150' of private frontage

"Clean, quiet, pet-friendly location about 8 miles from Machias. The view of the lake is beautiful and sunrises are worth getting up for. This was our first autumn visit to downeast Maine and we thoroughly enjoyed the woods and lake around our rental.Thank you to our host for a lovely place to stay!"

Serene Jonesport Escape: Deck w/ Water Views!

"We had a wonderful stay at the house. Enjoyed coffee outside on the back deck watching the sunrise over the water. There is access down to the rocky shore via a small set of steps. We cooked a fair bit which we planned to do since this is a pretty remote property and found everything needed to prepare a meal. Bedroom and bathroom were fine, and laundry was a bonus Extra blankets in the living room were nice to have on cool days, The property's water comes from a well and was pretty dirty the first day there but cleared up after being used for a day. Not an issue for us having had well water before. As I said this is a pretty remote property, one of the two restaurants close by was closed due to no cooks. Others are a 25 minute drive away. We chose this house because we wanted to explore the Bold Coast of Maine and its a great starting spot for day trips. Canada is and hour north, Schoodic Peninsula an hour south. Hiking in the area is wonderful. If you love rock hopping along the shore (I do) don't miss Great Wass Preserve Shoreline trail. A mile long walk directly on the water. Not easy but can't wait to do it again. Thanks for having us."
