"This was my first visit to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I booked the Birchy motel as it looked easy to find and had good review. Not only was it easy to find, the view of Lake Superior from our second floor room was amazing!!! The room itself was quite large, with a microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and sink. The bathroom was also large and included towels and the basic amenities. We had a king size bed, which was very comfortable! The TV was so nice (picture quality far better than my tv at home) and there were so many channels. My favorite are always the music video channels - great for background music! The patio was large and it was lovely to sit out and watch the sunset. Although it is located off a main road, the surroundings and atmosphere was very quite and peaceful. It was evident there had been recent updates/renovations, so recent there was not a rod or hangers in the closet. In fact, there were few places to lay out clothes. There was one table top, desk top, 2 night stands, and single chair in the room. We were there for 3 nights, so it wasn't too bothersome and I am sure they will finish installing these minor items soon. Overall, 5 stars! Highly recommend and would stay here again :)"

"Made my reservation on line. Went to get keys and asked that room be drive up. Desk staff claimed i would have to pay extra as only one room wasnt rented. She couldnt figure out how to do it. Ended up keeping the price the same. The parking lot wasnt even half full at 6 am. She believe she lied to try and get a couple more $$ for the room. Room itself was large and clean. Nice simple breakfast before we headed out for Pictured Rocks Hiking spots."

"I visit Marquette a few times each year to visit my student at the hospital. This hotel is very cute, and I just love the retro redo. All staff was very friendly and helpful. I like the fact that it is locally owned and operated. I will be back!"

"10/10 Perfect size, maybe smaller than expected but I have no complaints. Gas station right next to it, walking distance from many diners. Breakfast was very good. "
