This district is the heart of Magari for visitors, offering a tranquil and authentic experience. It's centred around several long-established onsen ryokans (traditional inns) and the scenic Magari River. You'll find charming streets with small shops selling local crafts and sweets, and the air often carries the faint scent of sulfur from the hot springs. Many of the inns here offer private onsen baths.

Couples looking for a relaxing and romantic escape will find the Magari Onsen district particularly appealing. The opportunity to unwind in private hot spring baths, enjoy exquisite multi-course kaiseki dinners, and stroll along the river in the evenings creates a memorable experience. The area's focus on rejuvenation and quiet beauty makes it ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

For those interested in a blend of relaxation and cultural exploration, staying near the Magari Castle ruins offers a slightly different perspective. While still within easy reach of the onsen, this area provides a connection to Magari's history. You can enjoy walks up to the castle site for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Magari River valley.
