Small town French feel
The hotel has changed hands since the last time we stayed but the atmosphere remains. A bit quaint and we did have a room overlooking the river. Quite nice. Rooms are small but adequate. Breakfast is extra and just minimal with coffee and croissants. Front staff was very chatty and friendly. It is about 2 or 3 blocks to reach restaurants and we tried two different ones and both were quite good.

The building and the infrastructure of the hotel are very nice, very comfortable and well maintained, with enough modern furniture. the room is very clean. Huawei board the management of the hotel aims to provide the most minimum service possible. the people at the reception are really unfriendly and the reception closes at 9 in addition to the lunch hours. If you arrive after 9, when the reception is closed, you have to deal with a machine that gives you a key or you have to go to the other Best Western 200 metres away where a friendly person will give you a key. There is no parking in the hotel, even if it is advertised, and cars go around the city looking for a spot to leave the cars. Breakfast is really minimal for the price, and you have to ask twice for an extra piece of baguette bread, forget fruits or any other fresh product food

Et ce sans limitation dans le respect des normes Covid. Au sujet de votre arrivée après 21h, Je pense que la description de l'hôtel sur notre page EXPEDIA a dû vous échapper, car les conditions d'enregistrement sont clairement annoncées. Bien à vous

Not as pleasing as before.
Management has changed since we stayed 2 years ago and seems less customer oriented. The rooms are nice but this time had no view of the Saone river. The breakfast is insufficient for the price. Walkable from train station and to post office and cafes.

Very enjoyable stay
We had a one night stopover on the way to South of France. The lady on the desk was very welcoming. Suggested where we could park to not incur charges ( no hotel parking) the hotel overlooks the river and is in a great location. Very close to lots of bars and restaurants and the shops. Our room was well furnished and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable with such lovely pillows. The bathroom is very modern and spotless. We opted for breakfast the next morning which is €8 per person, which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is homemade jam and yoghurts. We would love to stay there again and see more of the town. When we checked out we expressed how happy we were with our stay and I think she is the owner was delighted that we enjoyed our stay. It’s so nice when you stay in a hotel that is not a chain. Definitely worth a stay.

Suitable for a stopover
This is an older hotel that is comfortable but basic. The bathrooms have been updated so they are good, but noise transmission between rooms and from above is evident. On-street parking was easy to find.. it is close to the old town so convienient to restaurants.

Parking could be difficult otherwise ok.
Helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms have no drinks facilities not even a bottle of water for hot summer day. Good breakfast. Parking very difficult on street if you arrive later in afternoon and even worse if you arrive early evening, expect on most occasion a walk to the hotel. Not really anywhere to drop off at door as street very busy. Up side, room had lovely river view.

A small comfortable hotel in good central location modest but clean accommodation run by a couple who try hard for their customers. Breakfast adequate but more choice required ie not just plain yogurt and more cheeses and hams,possibly tea as option displayed.

Delightful.
What impressed us most was the warmth of the welcome - the owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly people. The room was very good, the shower excellent, the wifi unusually effective. Breakfast was lovely and the hotel is well situated for the centre, also benefiting from being on the river bank. Parking: there is a free parking not far away, but most will do what we did and use the metered parking directly outside (free from 1800 to 0900 - so buy a ticket for the first hour or two of the morning after 1800 the night before). We would not hesitate to use this hotel again when visiting Macon.

Great find
Really lovely hotel. Had room 21 on the 2nd floor which was bright, very clean, really comfy and a river view on the front. Great friendly service, we simply wanted a bed as a stop-off and found a lovely hotel that exceeded our expectations, great price and friendly hotel team eager to help.

Clean and confortable
One night in the way back from Italy, the room was functional and clean. The road outside at the front is very busy so could be noisy but during the night we didn't find it intrusive. There is an amount of free parking on the river side of the road within a few minutes walk. The owners were friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely keen to find out if the room and stay were ok.

Love this hotel on the Saone River
This hotel is one that I would love to come back and stay in for a few days. The owners were great. They had a place blocked off in front of the hotel on the street that they gave to us for parking our rental car, right down front. The hotel faces and is across from the Saone River and our room had a wonderful view of the River as the sun went down with the reflection of the town's buildings and bridge in the river and then after dark the reflection of all the lights. We were just there for the night and up early to go to Cluny and then on to Beaune but would not hesitate to go back. The room was small but clean and modern with a newly remodeled bathroom.

Great location, nicely appointed rooms,
We were very pleased with this hotel. Our room was sparking clean. It looks as if the hotel had a recent remodel as everything looked new and updated. We had a lovely view of the river. There are double windows to block the noise of the street traffic. In just minutes walk you'll find old town with restaurants and historical sites. Daniel, the wonderful manager, gave us a map and great suggestions.

Stopover Hotel? No, better than that
A typical small hotel. Owner runs everything from reception to making the breakfast. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Wooden beams running along the ceiling simply adds more character, much like the patron. Very good restaurants just over the bridge from the hotel.

Great stopover for a journey to South of France
We had two rooms that were connected by a small private corridor so we, as parents, could sleep secure in the knowledge that our children were safe in the room opposite. Great view of the river and bridge. Central location for a wander around the town and to find restaurants for our evening meal. We had informed the owner we would not have breakfast yet when we left she gave us four croissants for our journey.

Nice hotel, between river and historic old town
This is a good hotel, nicely furnished and equipped. Very well located for exploring the old town of Macon, as well as exploring the fabulous wine regions of Bourgogne and Beaujolais. Despite awful weather we really enjoyed our stay. The owners were helpful and welcoming NAND breakfast was lovely.

Small room. Small elevator. Small hotel. Everything small, but all in all a nice experience. If you carry bulky luggage you may find discomfort, otherwise room was just big enough. Tall people staying on top floor (3 in all) watch for the low roof beams. Hotel has free parking for ONE car. Others have to use local paid parking (no charge between 8pm-9am). Typical continental reakfast available for a fee. Good dining within walking distance. Recommending "La meson Maconaisse du vin". Hotel counter, lift and front door closes by 10am. You must check-in earlier. Hotel guests can enter through back door using door key, but must use stairs. All in all not a luxurious hotel, but a good place for an overnight stay en-route. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Speaks broken English. Just enough to get by.

Well located hotel in Macon
We highly recommend this Macon hotel. One of the great features of this small hotel is the hosts.... They made every effort to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. We stayed for a week and would return if travelling through Macon again. The hotel is delightfully decorated, with spotless bathroom facilities. It is also well located for restaurants.

A little Gem
Greeted by wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, this stay started off right. My room was small but immaculate and charming. Overlooking the river, it made for a delightful stay. Bearing in mind this is a 3 star hotel, it was exceptional and, at the price, a great discovery.

Petite Hotel
Nice little Hotel on the main road in Macon. You can park on the road right outside the Hotel. The rooms are small but cosy and very clean and seem to have been recently renovated. The bathroom is also very clean and of good quality. The lady at the reception was very nice and though we couldn't speak any French, we managed to communicate and get directions to the town centre.

Great stopover in macon
The hotel is in nice location overlooking the river. The owners are very friendly and the room was very comfortable. The bathroom was much more than you would normally expect in France breakfast was simple but filling. Coffee refilled regularly. Will definitely use again. Good value!

My wife and I had to visit Mâcon very briefly, owing to a family tragedy. From the moment we arrived, the Hôtel du Nord owners showed themselves to be very understanding, helpful, and sympathetic. The hotel, which overlooks a beautiful stretch of the Saône, is very central with many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Our room was ample for our purposes and very clean; the twin beds were very comfortable; and the breakfast was copious and delicious. We highly recommend the Hôtel du Nord.

For the price this is excellent value. Not the Hilton but very clean and helpful. Rooms not huge but we were out during the day and needed a central base to sleep. Covered parking a little walk from the Hotel although there were spaces infront but these tended to be full. Did not have breakfast at hotel as elected to go out to the local cafes but saw one client tucking in to the typical bread, croisant butter and jam with coffee. Would happily go again.

France's best hotel
Beautiful hotel, couldn't fault anything.The room was stunning best we've ever had in France. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Situation is ideal for seeing the town. Breakfast typically continental but very nicely presented and if more was required it was brought with a smile. Can't praise it enough.

Hotel du Nord, Macon, France - overnight stay
This was a great place for an overnight stay in southern Burgundy on a drive across France. Close by is Restaurant Pierre which is a wonderful restaurant. The couple who run Hotel du Nord are friendly and welcoming and we would happily return. Not a place we would choose for more than a couple of nights - we would prefer something with bigger rooms and possibly a little more expensive. This was fine for what we needed.

Hotel Gem in Macon
A lovely friendly hotel - greeted with a smile and freindly service at reception which was clean and welcoming. The room was fantastic - newly decorated with very modern furnishings and extremely clean ensuite and great shower. Our room overlooked the river and short walk across the bridge to fantastic restaurants. Traditional French breakfast with absolutely lovely crockery - everything was presented in such a trastefull way. the ownhers of the hotel were extremely friendly and would definately recommend anyone who is touring this area to stay at this hotel. Will definately go back.

Hotel du Nord -- the hotel to stay at in Macon
We booked Hotel du Nord at the last moment after our B&B reservation in Cluny fell through. It was a lucky break as Cluny was a huge disappointment with little to do/see, few restaurants, etc; while Macon is not a sight-seeing city, the location at 25 kms from Cluny was in great proximity. The hotel has been recently completely renovated and is super modern. It is without a doubt the finest ** hotel we've ever stayed at! The bathroom was large, really nicely tiled/lighted and had a huge spotlessly clean shower large enough for two people. The bed was large and comfortable with extra pillows and blanket. The room has AC which we didn't use as the temperature was warm but not hot. It also had a nice Samsung flatscreen TV. We were on the third floor in room 32 (I think) with a superb view over the Saone River. The only drawback to the hotel is the main street below. Traffic did die down late at night until about 0630 in the morning so noise wasn't a problem. With the AC on and window closed, noise wouldn't have been a concern in the least. Street parking adjacent to the hotel is available first come, first served for about Euro 1 per hour until 1830. We arrived around 1615 and fed the meter and were good to go until the following morning.

Trop cher pour la prestation
Un week end en couple dans la jolie ville de Mâcon. Le personnel est charmant, rien à redire mais le responsable de l’établissement désagréable. 130 euros pour une chambre bruyante en rez de chaussée avec une fenêtre condamnée et l’autre impossible à refermer, c’est vraiment cher et décevant pour un best western. Les prestations proposées ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix demandé.

Madame,Si j'ai pu être désagréable quand je me suis permis de vous appeler pour ce samedi matin être au fait de ce qui s'était passé, je vous prie de m'en excuser. Je cherchais juste à comprendre comment une fenêtre qui ne peut s'ouvrir qu'en oscillo battant ( pour des raisons évidentes de sécurité) a pu s'ouvrir normalement alors que le système ne le permets pas!En revanche le double vitrage est parfaitement isolant, fenêtre fermée. Et il n'était pas nécessaire de dire que la chambre était à 130 alors qu'elle était à 111 . Cela n'apporte rien de plus à votre deception que je comprends parfaitement.Bien cordialement
