Great Location in Central Lyon
Small, friendly hotel steps away from the intersection of two key metro lines, restaurants, shopping, etc. Only problem for some is the elevator starts one floor up from the ground floor. Well insulated so quiet, and not on a busy street. Also has a small sitting room.

It’s an old hotel, quite small. The hotel is not very clean and the elevator is on the 1st floor, you need to carry luggage tithe 1st floor. The elevator is small too. However, the price and the location is super good, it worth the price

The room was really gross. The carpet and bedding were very dirty. But the location was amazing and the shower was strong and good. Also, parking is difficult. I cannot recommend this to anyone.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel is on the smaller side but the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Lyon!

The location of the hotel is excellent, Central to all areas and transit. The staff are helpful, friendly and quick check in. The hotel could use a refresh. Needs fresh paint, clean the carpets and or replace. Rooms very small, shower was tiny and very noisy on street side of hotel. When you compare the cost/ dated interiors of a room to its location, a trade off for location wins.

Great value for a very affordable hotel that is perfectly central to everything you will want to do in Lyon. I was able to walk everywhere in the city from this spot. If you are expecting something incredibly posh, this may not be for you, but if you are looking for a convenient, clean, comfortable spot then this is a great option.

The front desk was very friendly and helpful! If solo, ask for an attic room with a window and not a sunlight. This is also a quiet room not on the busy street. The location is located next to Hermes and across the street from Longchamp, so a primo spot for a 2 star hotel. You can walk across the lovely footbridge to the Old Town in 10 minutes. Place Bellecour with the tourist office and the metro is 2 minutes away. Perrache train station is a 20 minutes walk. Close to many restaurants as well. I stayed for a week, so a great value! Definitely recommend.

I am fond of eccentric facilities with good service and location, and that certainly describes the Hotel Elysee. The location was ideal -- in the dead centre of Centre-Ville between the Rhone and Saone. The elevator began one floor above the lobby and ended one floor below my room (I was on the top floor). I loved the view of the rooftops from my window. A blessing for July: the air conditioning was excellent and so was the price! Breakfast was good, and staff could not have been more helpful.

The center of city with lacuary stores in the area so I felt safe walking ariund by myself after dark. Not the latest but well funcionated and clean room. Could be nice if they upgrade thier bathroom amenities and linnens.

Great location, comfortable bed, not soundproof.
Positives: Location Excellent. Bed quality excellent. Friendliness of management excellent. Cleanliness excellent. The price I paid for my room (January) I would describe as "on a low budget" - so I did not expect perfection from the hotel. I stayed on the top floor (floor 6) - which comprises single rooms .Likely the quietest floor (except when people on mobile phones!) - but stairs involved. Choose room w window not skylight if you can afford - fresh air then available if wanted. Could be better: Pillows too small and the dooner/quilt not long enough for my liking. Breakfast: Consists of pastries and yoghurt only - tasty but expensive. Espresso coffee ordered was more like strongish American coffee - not favoured by Australians used to strong coffee. Rooms are NOT soundproofed to the corridor or adjoining bedrooms - you can hear conversations and movements of other guests when they are in their room and especially in the corridor. The bathroom in my room adjoined another bathroom- I could hear everything, my bathroom door could not close to reduce sound. Also loud generator goes on for 1 hour 2 x day - 11 am & 5 pm. Bathroom amenities are limited to a tiny piece of soap and satchel of shampoo/body wash (but it is replaced daily). Old fashioned hair dryer attached to the wall. Shower stall is small - and I'm slim and constantly bumped the walls while washing - however a lot of older hotels are like this. No kettle, fridge, cup, bottled water.

We enjoyed a nice night in Lyon based from this hotel. It's right in the centre of the city, and near everything you want if you're hoping to see Lyon.
